rack pulls first time in a long time....

Holy fuck im sore now. Ive been doing deads for a while now but took a break from them the last 2 weeks. Decided to go heavy on rack pulls yesterday for back day and fuck me i cant hardly move today. I forgot just how good they work my back. Went up to 495 for 5 and i havent been able to get my back this sore in a long time. Feels great. Think im gonna start rotating deads and rack pulls every other week.

What's a rack pull? We talking rack deads or you talking about something else? If were speaking of the same thing, I sure as shit don't get why any bodybuilder would do a full deadlift. Once you get past your knees your using your hams and glutes almost excusively. I hate full range deadlifts.
 
yeah rack deads. I love full deads just because i used to be more of a powerlifter then anything. Our power rack at my gym kinda sucks though, the bottom notch is a bit too low like shin height which is where i did them from yesterday. But the 2nd to lowest for some reason is like 3 inches above the knee. It sucks because i like to start right at knee level or a hair under.
 
You cant get anything to stand on to elevate yourself?

Yeah im probably going to use a couple of plates. i tried the steps for the classes they use but with that much weight 500 plus 225 for me it was a little unstable and my feet wiggled in the plastic if that makes since. So Im gonna try something different next week.
