How Phil Heath built the world’s best guns.

Let’s talk Phil’s bi’s. Of all the Gift’s genetic gifts, none are greater than his arms. His biceps are not just cartoonishly swole, but they possess two qualities that are usually mutually exclusive: they’re prodigiously peaked and yet also have a long fullness all the way to his forearms. What’s more, when he’s high-def, as he always is on contest day, they’re so delineated it seems as if you can look underneath them to the humerus bones inside. His bi’s are high-def, 3-D and IMAX, and they’re coming again to the Olympia stage as guaranteed blockbusters. We look back to a routine Heath used early in his career to build the world’s best bi’s.

PHIL’S BEGINNER ADVICE
"Know your limits. You don't want to get hurt, yet you want to go heavy. An eight- to 12-rep range is ideal. A beginner should do no more than nine sets for bis and nine for tris. You should try every exercise to find which ones work for you. Just because something works for me or someone else doesn't mean it'll work for you.

Heath is known for his awesome bi's, I heard they are the biggest in the game. I believe they measure out to be 26 inches I maybe wrong tho does anyone know.

10 sets for just bi's is plenty.....his bi's have sick thickness to them they are wide as hell

I wasn't meaning for the average guy, I was meaning for the pros, they always seem to do insane amounts of sets. I was just shocked that he only does 10 sets. I mean that's all I do, but I don't have huge fucking arms like him either. I would just thought he'd do at least 12

yes but i'm sure you also dont use the amount of shit he uses or put the shit in his arms that he does or eat the same quantity of food.....i think in general most pros are actually a lot lazier then we think

That's probably true, I have to work hard for whatever muscle I put on where as they can get whatever they need to appear bigger even if they're not as strong as they look. I love being as strong if not stronger than I look

I don't think you can get to their level by being lazy, but you are right about the amount of stuff they are using, plus their genetics...they are gonna grow with less effort than it would take you and me.

Genetics are one thing, but I think at the point they are in life, it's more about the drugs and such than them actually building much more size

I would agree with big, yea genetics will get you so far but not everyone is a genetic freak and still have great physiques. I believe in the end it doesnt matter about genetics all that matter is you have a good diet, knowledge of your gear, and bust your balls in the gym. Yea it might take you longer then the others but with enough hard work and dedication anyone can look phenomenal.

i think genetics play more of a part in like muscle insertions and shape which can make someone look larger or better then others

Yea, that's kinda my feelings. I mean I don't think everybody can get 300 pounds and have mostly muscle so in that aspect I think genetics and build play a roel and the way your muscles look is also genetics
