Critique My Physique

Midwest Muscle

New member
Hey guys decided I'm going to be more active on the board this year. Started my off season about 4 weeks ago. Currently at 237lbs. Not sure what show I'm going to do this year but know it will be something in the fall no earlier than sept. Goal is to put on 5-10 more lbs of muscle by june/july.
Would love to here anyone's constructive criticism. Overall I think I need to just add more size everywhere and really work on my legs this year.

I'd say you look very good all around. Maybe some more size on the wuads, but that'd be the only thing I can see lagging. You have a thick upper body

Legs are pretty thick, but the teardrops seem to be behind. Have you used IGF on the teardrops?

Back thicknees and lower lats, triceps, quads. Back can be wider also, would like to see more lats when doing the FDB. Overall you look pretty good.

Look good bro, looks like your left bicep is lagging though, look forward to seeing the progress

Thanks for your input Nuk. Been following you on here for along time, you look awesome bro!!! What do you recommend for the lower lats?? I do alot of reverse grip pull downs. Know my quads are weak, didnt train them hard for several years before I decided to compete. Working the shit out of them now !!

I do my back twice a week. Wednesday and Saturday. On one of these days I focus mainly on lower lats. I do nothing overhand grip and do mostly rows. I use underhand and neutral grip. Also really think about posing when you do your workout, that way you can put your mind in connection with the muscles you want to work. Never think about pulling the weight either, when working back, think drive the elbows back and sqeeze. Do to you cant see your back while working it, I think the mind can become a great asset.

Hope this helps.

This is great advice!!!! I have started doing this to change things up and my back is growing like crazy. Way thicker and way better detail. Been doing this for qauds also and they are growing like crazy. Def works!!!!! Also been doing alot of single leg movements.

focus on staying somewhat tight in the offseason to tighten up your skin on your lower abs. The dryer you got at the last show, the better they got. But, if you woundnt have had to do a strict diet toward the end, the skin might have been even tighter.

as for mass, I would say back thickness, and overall leg developement. Just means KILL your legs every workout...

nuk nuk gave some excellent advice. I've never really thought about training back like that, but it certainly makes sense

Looking good MidWest! Its pretty tough to realy critiqu off season pics though, lol! SO with that being said just add that weight like u plan to and you'll be fine

Upper lats are nice but I would like a little more size on the lower lats. Rest of upperbody looks great to me. Im not a very good judge of legs. So I wont even attempt to critique them. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the recommendations everyone. I'll give that a try nuk.. doing back twice a week now. I'm going to alternate weeks, doing back twice a week one week then legs twice a week the next week. I'm keeping the diet tighter this year chris, at 240 right now and I wont go much above that unless its quality muscle. I think working with Shelby this whole year will really pay off.
