What are some sayings you live by?

Saw this thread on another forum and there were some really good replies, wanted to see what you guys had to say.

A couple that I was taught growing up and still use are:

Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without.

Sometimes, it's expensive to be cheap.

A reply from the other thread I really like is:

Amateurs do it until they get it right, professionals do it until they can't get it wrong.

My mother always instilled in me that if you are going to work hard, you have to reward yourself. Otherwise there's no point in working at all!!
Alot of the guys that have been on here know all about my crap. I used to pretty much live each day like it was my last with no regard for others. Very slowly that philosophy has changed so that if today is my last day, I will be proud of what I've done with my life and those that I care about will know that I cared about them.

Some sayings I try to live by
The turtle always wins the race
Dont count the days but make the days count
Dont just try to do the next right thing but do the next thing right.

If I died today how would I be remembered tomorrow?

What would my dad do in this situation?

When it's all said and done peoples memories of me and the way they speak of me is extremely important. And if I conduct myself half as well as my dad conducts himself on a daily basis I can die without any worries.

No sacrifice, No reward
proper prepreations prevent poor performance
Impossible is nothing

dont stick your pen in company ink!!

Cant make chicken salad out of chicken shit!!

This is taped to my computer:: "If you do what youve always done, you will get what you always got".
Think hard about it,... it has worked for me for many years

I used to work in a nursing home. Old people know a lot. This old guy told me that, "You havent lived life unless you have regrets".
Well Im 40 now and I get it bc I have regrets,...too many actually but I have lived.

I like this one, it's better to be hated for what you are than loved for what you're not.
