Abstract

<abstracttext>Prolactin is a polypeptide hormone which mainly acts on the reproductive system and plays an important role in penile erection and ejaculation. Prolactin receptors have a variety of short forms apart from the classic long form, which are widely expressed in male reproductive glands. High levels of prolactin can induce erectile dysfunction and results in secondary male infertility, which are mainly associated with the inhibition of dopaminergic activity, reduction of the testosterone level, and contraction of the cavernous smooth muscle. Moreover, low levels of prolactin can result in ejaculatory dysfunction. This article updates the views on the expressions of prolactin receptors in the male reproductive system, the effects of prolactin on penile erection and ejaculation, and its action mechanisms.</abstracttext>

I just learned the word cavernous a few days ago and now I see it all over the place lol I honestly had no idea the dick needed these muscles to actually relax in order to get hard and allow blood flow in , anyhow I thought you did not want this contraction so blood could flow in easily? Now I'm confused lol

anyhow I read all this when looking up a product I thought was a steroid blend called Trimix lol but I was very wrong lol and quickly found out it's something you inject into your dicks cavernous region to get hard lol

They corpus cavernosum is not a muscle , it doesn't contract. It is like a sponge that fills with blood and swells. The corpus spongiosum keeps your pee hole from getting smashed closed during that process.

Contraction is not good, that's correct, it essentially means tiny muscle convulsions and ultimately constriction of blood flow.
