I just started checking out these boards. I've been involved in bodybuilding in some capacity since 1989. I definitely see a problem going on. Guys are using alot of different drugs the incorrect way for themselves. That is why certain drugs get bad reputations when they shouldn't. For example T3 and insulin. T3 if used correctly, for that particular person, is very, very safe and very effective. The problem is just like with most things talked about here, people really don't know how to use these substances in the optimal way for THEMSELVES. Insulin also. If used correctly. The correct amount, the correct type at the correct time and the correct amount of carbs taken with it insulin can be used safely. I did gh and insulin and T3 for two straight years. In those two years I competed in the Jr. Nationals and then the USA. But, I had one of the best trainers there was at the time. I hate even saying this because it sounds like name dropping and I hate that but it's the truth. He was training Ronnie Colman at the same time, in the late 90's when Ronnie was at his best. So, I was told how to do everything the correct way. Most, or 99% of guys don't have that opportunity, I get that. That's why if I can Ill try to add something. Blindly listening to message boards without doing your own research is a very bad idea. I would suggest, if you truly want to use drugs like T3, insulin, GH, even anabolics that you invest a bit of money into a trainer. They call them trainers but all the guys I used were just guys that knew how to optimally use all these drugs and nutrition usually guys like me who had real life experience plus did their own research. Not the person on you tube embarrassing himself by just taking as much of everything he can get his hands on. That's not a plan, there is absolutely nothing impressive about doing something dangerous like that. What is impressive is being able to use the least amount of drugs for your body and still get optimal results. Anyone can go take 2,000mgs of test, 2,000 mgs if Deca, 1,000 MG of tren ect, eat halfway decent, train and make gains. Problem is where the hell do you go from there? If your that young doing such ridiculously high doses where do you go in the future. 4,000 mgs of test? Of course this person will drop dead in his 40's or 50's because this is pure abuse. You do not have to abuse anabolics to create a great physique for yourself. First thing you need to understand is bodybuilding is not all drugs. It's a combination of three things and do one of the three incorrectly you will not make the progress you should. Nutrition, Anabolic Drugs, and Training in that order of importance. If your nutrition is off, if you're not eating the correct amount of the correct foods FOR YOU you will not get very far. The drugs, obviously are needed if you want to reach a certain level. That does not mean they have to be abused and they must be used correctly. Of course you must know how to train, how much per day, how often how long. I started training when I was 14 I started in a gym at 16. The gym I started at just happened to be, probably, the most famous bodybuilding gym in the east coast. I was amazed at 16 looking at these guys. Pros, top Amatures and the owner was a former Bodybuilder who, if he saw potential in you he would make sure you were training correctly. Luckily he saw potential in me and he was the first person to really start to teach me how to build muscle. He also convinced me to do my first contest at 18, the Teenage NJ. Out of 15 teens I placed second and I was hooked. Another guy helped me prepare for that contest. He was competing in the Nationals later in the year and we used to meet a 5:30AM Monday through Friday, before high school, to train. He taught me everything I know to this day about training. I had no idea what training legs really meant until the first time we did and I really thought I was going to die but I couldn't quit in front if him. Plus he helped me with the diet, I had absolutely no idea how to prepare for a contest.. It was the hardest thing I had ever done to that point of my life. He also finally broke it to me that all these guys are not natural, lol. I still remember what he told me to take for that contest, it was like nothing. 50mgs winstrol Monday , Wed, Friday, 200 mgs Deca until 3 weeks out, 1/2 anadrol a day till 3 weeks out then just the winstrol and 10 mgs of halitestin till the day of the contest. No diuretics just manipulated my water and used b6 and potassium. I have one picture left from that contest and when I look at it I can't believe not knowing what I was doing, at 18, on a tiny amount of drugs what I ended up looking like. I tried to post it. I came in second the kid who won looked ridiculous and actually won the teen nationals the next year. And we still talk to this day. My point is I ate correctly, I trained correctly and I took a minimal amount of anabolic drugs and still looked better than most ever will at 18. Not that I could have done any of it without him though., So, what I'm saying is we spend all this money on drugs, why not find someone that truly knows what he's doing and invest some of that money into him. I garuntee, if he really knows what he's doing, it will be far more worth it than any drug you could buy. After my last contest I quit the sport to presue a career. I didn't train for 17 years. Once I got totally disgusted with what I looked like I came back. Everything changed. Now I see younger guys who never make any progress, who don't know how to train and I have to assume don't know how to eat but they know how to take drugs. They still look horrible to me. Since I started training again, 3 years ago, I haven't seen one single guy whose physique impressed me at all. It's because the three things I mentioned they aren't doing. They stop me and ask me questions all the time, oh BTW the time it took after 17 years off to look good again was ridiculously short. In 3 months I wasn't embarrassed any more to go to the gym and by 6 months I looked better than probably most everyone in the place. By 2 years I started looking crazy again and that's when the constant questions started. But I'm not a trainer, I don't want to be, I have a very demanding job. But if someone at the gym or if someone here asked me a question I try to answer them but what they really need is to hire a real trainer(they call them trainers but really I'm talking about a guy who can teach you how to eat, how to get the most out of your anabolic drugs with out abusing them and someone who will help you with your training routine). It doesn't have to be someone who lives near you. With the internet you can hire anyone anywhere. You know these guys are out there, not talking about the you tube clowns, the best thing you could do for yourself, if you truly way to make progress, learn how to put on lean muscle and how to continually improve, is do some research and find someone who can teach you these things. You'll only need him until you get everything down, unless you want to compete that's a different story then you need to stick with someone for awhile, until you totally know your own body. Just my advice to this younger crowd as I approach 50, buy less drugs and invest in a coach or keep spinning your wheels going no where.
