    Default HELP ME PLEASE.....

I would like the communities opinions on the demo software I have linked below.

Its the Full Suite Of Basic Apps We Might Buy to run MuscleChemistry with.

Its not just a forum but rather rather it’s an entire social networking platform with a lot of good 3rd party plugins . The DEMO LINK below is good for another 4 days to play around with.

im sure it could be layer out better and I’m just playing with the features to get a feel for it being a good fit for our community or not.

members would be able to create their own community within this platform and I think in today’s social media world , that MuscleChemistry needs to expand outside of being just a forum and turn into an actual Social Media Platform

in closing, I think this software might be a good fit for our community , but more importantly do you guys and gals like it?

Please leave comments here or pm me your thoughts and ideas! It’s an expensive platform to buy licensing to own the software outright myself and run on our own servers. So I really need opinions.

Im open to other platforms you guys might know of too that u like? Cause unless vbulletin makes a drastic direction change , I think this is our last vbulletin software update we will ever run

    Thank YOU!

Well this is what I got when I clicked on the first link. No bueno. I couldn't paste it, but I'm getting "Warning: Potential Security Risk". I'm using firefox if that's any help.

Same with me on the first one. But why spend money on fixing something that isn't broke?

Looking at the Sandtrap site gives a much, much better idea of what's actually possible. What Presser is trying to do is make it so we can all connect from here to all the different social media platforms and back again, so we have increased content and sharing. VBulletin has continued to develop new versions, but the consensus from users is that the new software is over-bloated and doesn't work well. Some forum owners didn't even want to update to version 4, continuing to run on version 3.8.7 which was the last stable version before version 4. The Promuscle forum is still on that version. We chose to update to version 4 so we could offer new features and capabilities to members. VBulletin stopped developing version 4 at 4.2.5 which is where we are. Any other functionality has to be done by adding special mods or plugins which can sometimes break the site as you've seen or it can make the site load more slowly. We've been able to get on a really fast server now so we've regained a lot of speed that we lost, but we're still stuck on being able to offer more. The new software by Invision that Presser is asking about can do a lot more than VBulletin, plus, it's served as a cloud application from far superior infrastructure so speed isn't a problem and neither is downtime, and there will be much more protection from the damned hackers that keep trying to take us down. So keep these things in mind as you look at the example site. And if we're barking up the wrong tree and you don't want or need all those features, please let us know your honest opinion.

I'm late to the party but if MC wants to grow beyond being primairly a message board and build long-term, sustainable value then it's gotta stay up with the times. It would especially help to keep the GenX/Millenial crowd engaged when they find the site. If you're not always working to improve and provide a better experience then you're actually going backwards because I guarantee you competition is always working to get better. The updates and features might not be for this crowd, but that doesnt matter. It's what will the 20-30yr olds want who will be seeking out this site and it's resources in the near future... Just an opinion from an MBA IT Marketing & Management grad. Invest, kick it in the ass and no regrets.

Agreed! Which is why i think this invision full social media platform is where its at, as all the major gaming sites, and fan club gamers communities are built on this software, the thing is, its been a round a minute, and i dont want to jump right in if there is something new NEW out that i just havent stumbled upon yet.

I visit BuiltWith.com to find the latest trending social community platforms and theres quite a few, but its such a tough call to make mainly because our site now is a bitch to transfer at our size and try keeping url structure and seo ranking etc..

Anyhow, i agree with your comment, and trying to keep my finger on the pulse of the internet of things lol,

I'm going to play devil's advocate here a little..

While I'm sure millennials like social media and all, when I think about the users on the board, if there is to be a discussion of or about anabolic steroids and other real muscle building compounds in any seriousness, most people will want to stay as anonymous as possible. Linking to social media would then be something that could potentially expose you and your identity. Imagine a user who just posted about the awesome cycle of whatever he just got. He posts info about what he got and eye candy photos of the "goods." Say that also gets automatically posted to his FB or Twitter or Instagram account automatically. Those accounts are usually a person's real identity, often even with a location of where they live. To me, it's an easy way to get busted.

If the site changes in a way that users don't really post about hardcore AAS usage, and the site becomes more of an informational site about training and regular supplements, then there'd be no problem connecting to social media. But then it wouldn't really be as much about muscle chemistry anymore. Lots of people come here for the hardcore kind of info, and you'd possibly lose them.
