Yoel Romero's name has been further cleared of wrongdoing after a failed drug test from 2016 was proved to have stemmed from a tainted supplement.

Romero (13-3 MMA, 9-2 UFC) on Tuesday won a lawsuit based in New Jersey against Gold Star Performance Products with total damages of $27.45 million, according to Romero's agent, Abraham Kawa. The UFC middleweight sued the company after a failed drug test caused him to be suspended from competition by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.
According to Romero's team, which includes attorney Howard Jacobs and Kawa, the breakdown of the damages was roughly $3 million for lost wages, $3 million for reputable harm and $3 million for emotional damage. The damages triple when a company is "found out to have committed consumer fraud," per the New Jersey "Consumer Fraud Act."

Romero shared his reaction to the news on social media (via Twitter):

I doubt he will see anything more than their insurance companies max damage payout. Then he fold and be done , or they will fold and restructor under new name.

I am not familiar with this brand honestly, but mor often than not its the relationships you have with people that determine whether or not your able to recover or restart. Its hard to get in big store and such and breakthrough, and im not even sure these guys did that, but if they had solid relationsships with the guys and gals who put them into their chain of store and what not, then they'll be ok.

My question is this, and maybe i read it wrong, and im not saying yoel cheated, but the way i read it, they made it sound like if you wanted to, you could taint the supplements you have provided to them, and if you pop then your covered?

What am i missing.

I think what they do is purchase lots from several different areas. If they all come back or at least a majority as tainted, then the manufacturer has an issue. If just the bottles that you own are tainted
then obviously the blame will come back on the consumer.
