Would anyone have thought that Hadi Choopan would have landed in the top 4 callout in the Men’s Open Olympia 2019? Surely, fans had high hopes – but a competitor whose main division throughout his career has been the Men’s 212 didn’t seem likely to place this high in his first ever Olympia showing especially in the Men’s Open.

Yet here we are with what could be a potentially big upset. Dexter Jackson, a fan favorite that many were hoping to win the Olympia 2019, might only place as high as fifth this year and Hadi Choopan may place fourth or higher. Of course, a lot can change in one night when we get to the Men’s Open finals on Saturday but this prejudging surely gives us a lot to think about.
The final callout came down to Hadi Choopan, Roelly Winklaar, Brandon Curry, and William Bonac. As many have said before, the division is truly open this year without the likes of Shawn Rhoden, Big Ramy, and Phil Heath to shake things up. And what we saw at the prejudging is a truly exciting back and forth where anything can happen.
Who do you think will win tomorrow night? Let us know your thoughts
