Bulking and cutting vs. Repartioning

Bulking and cutting seems to put in a futile circle that ends with me around the same size and shape after each go around. A couple years ago I gained 50 pounds on DC in 14 months, but gained it too fast apparently because too much of it was fat gain. Then I slowly dieted off 35 pounds over a whole year and lost too much muscle so I'm still not ripped. Currently I'm 195 and about 12% bodyfat. My ultimate goal is to be 195 and about 5-7% bodyfat. Since I'm at the right bodyweight right now, do I have to bulk and cut again to get ripped or can I just maintain my bodyweight while increasing lifting poundages, doing cardio and following a good diet?

So lets bottom line it---and look at the big picture---you lost too much muscle dieting down yet you are 195 from 174 in a year (and probably would be at the same bodyfat especially if you dieted down correctly which you said you didnt)....thats a 21 pound gain clean.....you said your goal you told him was "40 lean pounds".....you are half way there now in a years time.......if someone told me they wanted to weigh 40 lean pounds heavier the fastest possible at 174 guess what i would do? I would get them as big as freaking possible in the shortest time possible just as that guy did. Did you want to gain 3 pounds a year for the next 13 years while staying lean to do this or did you want to do this fast? I might of done some things differently but it looks like to me you just gained 20 pounds of muscle in 14 months.

You got to tell people whats acceptable for you or not.

Im going to really bottom line this for people.

If you are 200 and want to be 250 the absolute fastest way possible....the absolute fastest way possible is to become a big fat powerlifting looking dude and go up to about 310.....fast track it, stay there for a little bit and then bring it down.

If you are 200 now and want to be really lean all the way up to 250, going to break it to you...unless you are a walking pharmacy...it aint going to happen.

Dont tell someone you want to get somewhere the fastest way possible if you dont want the journey there.

Now I didnt say that this is the way you have to do it but its the absolute fastest. Sucks dont it. Not very appealing is it? BUT ITS THE FASTEST. So you need to tell someone training you...."I want to get bigger but I realize i want to do this with some sense of leaness and with that said I do realize im not going to get there nearly as fast if at all"

Im going to state it one more time.

You give me some 200 pound twin and the goal is 10 million dollars who gets their twin to 250 at 8% the absolute fastest.....my twin is going to be a fat smooth doughy looking motherfucker on the way to that journey but I guarentee you at the end I will be 10 million dollars richer, aint no doubt in my mind about that.....a means to the end......eye on the prize....something alot of bodybuilders have no idea about. Sometimes you go thru hell to get to heaven

I was 137 once....i wanted to be a big advanced bodybuilder....do you think it was a pretty journey all the way there? Not a fucking chance. But Ive walked around for the last 15 years one big boy because I got to 300 and then tweaked it to my liking.

It is what it is and the truth isnt always nice to hear about. Again im not recommending one person on this board become fat.....but also make sure you are happy doing what you could do in 2-3 years in 5-6 years instead.
