This is purely for curiosity. Please forgive my ignorance on this subject but I've always assumed it was much harder for a vegan or vegetarian to keep up with someone who eats meat in terms of gains, development, etc. It seems the amount of plant/vegan based alternatives that need to be consumed to take in enough protein are very difficult to attain. Meats are just more protein dense.

***AGAIN, this is just my uneducated assumption.

***Yes, I understand that you can get adequate protein from a plant based diet blah blah blah, but I'm talking about a bodybuilding diet whose needs are much greater than the average person.

I'd like to hear from any of you whom are vegetarian or vegan and have managed to achieve noteworthy size and development. No offense but I don't wanna hear from Mr. 6 ft 185 lbs with a six pack. I want to hear from Mr. 6 ft 230 lbs + who turns heads in any public place.

Any information you can give us on your diet, and what foods you eat to get in all the macros you need. I'm especially interested in protein and what kinds of vegan/vegetarian foods are out there that contain adequate WHOLE proteins, or what combinations of foods do you eat that contain enough complimentary proteins to support your goals.

Looking forward to hopefully hearing from some of you.

Pics are welcomed/encouraged as well.

I don’t think it’s possible
That was always my opinion but then again I'm not educated enough on veggie based diets to say for sure. I do know that a lot of vegetarians and vegans would argue that it is. Just trying to learn I guess.

I hear crickets... LOL..I'm sure there are some out there, but I don't know any pure vegans that are making blind blowing gains.

lmao. I grew up eating meat, so really couldn't say from my own perspective, but there was a guy, yeah i know there is always a guy, lol. anyways in the marines this guy was a vegetarian, vegan didn't exist back then, but this guy was a toothpick. so i would have to agree with Presser and Ashop, i don't think it's probable. there may be one out there, i just haven't seen one.

So, after watching this documentary 2 days ago which really made me think and open my eyes a bit on this subject, i have decided to give this Vegan thing a try! I am going to go strictly plant based and i have a full blood panel being done this week anyhow, and i will go again in 6 weeks and see where all the important markers are at then after 6 weeks of plant based eating!

I NEVER EVER THOUGHT I WOULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS! AND IF I WAS STILL A YOUNGBUCK IN MY 20'S COMPETING IM SURE I WOULDNT BE SO EAGER TO GIVE THIS A GO! AND YES I AM EAGER TO TRY THIS OUT!

I will see if i cant get the name of the documentary that changed my views enough to at least make me want to try this out and see how i feel on it!

I figure i have nothing to lose and can only gain health benefits from trying it out , im already very lean, and thats the only thing that worries me, im all muscle, dont get me wrong, and i hope that didnt come off in a bragadocious way, it wasnt meant to, my point is, i dont wanna lose muscle on this diet, but after watching this documentary and researching it myself, i think i can at least maintain what i have .

Great subject by the way Jozif!!!

As with most 'diets' there is dirty vegan and clean vegan. I would think that you would succeeded more on a clean version. The same can be said for clean keto or dirty keto.....................or the anti vegan diet.........carnivore!!

I don't know...I tend to think it isn't possible either unless you have amazing genetics. I don't know a single bb'er where I live doing vegetarian or vegan.
