Not sure why the graphic on the video says Hemochromatosis. That's completely unrelated. Hemochromatosis is not just having high RBC, hemoglobin, or hematocrit. Had to correct a new doc at my last appointment as I was explaining symptoms. Those things happen because of iron overload--THIS is hemochromatosis. The body stores iron and can't get rid of it like it's supposed to. The high iron causes the increases in all those things, and then it can start to damage organs as it accumulates. Only way to get rid of it is to do a phlebotomy or give blood, but you only do that if you have the iron overload, not just because you have a high RBC count. I'm under control now, pretty much having blood taken out every 6 months. I basically have damage to nearly every endocrine gland in my body. Only barely now have I finally found a doc that would prescribe me HGH because my tests have been low for almost 5 years. (An endo wouldn't give it to me literally because he said I was too muscular. Didn't matter that I had low test results.) The pituitary has been the last, latest thing I've had to deal with having this genetic disease.
