last year..they started .. thought it was winnies fault... dermotologist... well he puts me on retina-a and dioxcycline(atleast 4 months now)... doc said it was hypersensitive acne prone skin... ok.. change hair poducts... change make up... pretty much don't use any unless i really have to... even my damn shampoo makes me break out...
now it is to the point that my stomach is a wreck from the dioxcycline.. getting sick all the time... so i stop using it for a few days.. stomach feels better..no throwing up .... break out comes right back.. same spot.. same break outs.. wtf.. tried panthoiric acid..etc....
no insurance anymore..so not asking doc for accutane.. plus that would be as harsh on my stomach..
come one.. what else.. can i try.. any body have an suggestions..

Ever since I tried "supplements" a while ago (I haven't done any in a long time) my face breaks out. On each cheek close to my hair line and on my left temple. It is always there. Occasionally is clears up then a day or two later a zit will pop out, then a few more and it looks like ass!! I used to have the clearest skin. Presser always complimented me about it. Pisses me off. My doctor prescribed me Benza Clin topical cream. It works pretty good, but you have to be consistant and remember to use it every nite before bed. Its not real strong though.

every day .. like clock work. for 4 + months.. cant. retina a gel .025% 100mg dioxyc... it;s not like what he gave me is not strong enough.. just not working...
just looking for other suggs..

thanks..

That sucks. Hopefully you'll find something that works. The stuff the Doc gave me works, I just have to stop being lazy and use it more often.

Oh yeah, I know what it feels like to have no insurance. That really blows. I haven't had it since Aug. 2001. Dr's are so expensive!! I pray that I don't get sick or even worse hurt!

I know you say you're not asking for accutaine, but just in case...I keep hearing about kids that get ultra-depressed on that stuff, enough to kill themselves. Who knows if it's really the drug or not, but if you do decide to take it, make sure you tell someone else so they can watch you carefully. Iknow what you mean about breakouts too. I've never had skin issues, EVER.... Actually, I started having breakouts on my back after my last cycle was over by a few weeks. Now, I have to shower twice a day (1x in the AM and again after the gym in the PM) and use one of those "loofas". I also use my wife's clinique stuff (can't remember what this liquid is called...) to pull the oil out of the skin at night before bed. I think it's called clarifying lotion #something or other. I sometimes forget one or more of those things, and sure as shit, I'm planet zit from neck to mid back the next day. As long as I keep to the regimen though, it usually stays fairly well in check.

Sasha.. U may wanna try facials. my mom is a massage therapist and she told me thats what i should do. The pill has been breaking me out a little bit. so anyway she used 2 work at a spa and i guess alot of people get facials due to acne. Its a deep clean and good for the pores. Ill let you know how it goes.

OK....I couldn't remeber what it was called so I had to go find it. At QVC.com (its the TV shopping channel) they sell Proactiv....it is supposed to be some amazing stuff, I have known a few people that have tried it and it worked for them. And QVC is really good...the stuff the sell does what it says it does, or they don't sell it. So you may want to give that stuff a try. Hope it works!!

You could try Witch Hazel and Tea tree oil. Thay don't work for everyone but I know many women who swear by them!! Plus they are inexpensive (relatively) so if they end up not working your not out a whole lot Good-luck

Tea Tree Oil works great. I have been using for a couple of weeks now, my face was getting really bad. I put just on the acne and they are gone in a day or two. Try it

Tea Tree Oil I get those big red ones but its like nothing is in them and they hurt. So far tea tree oil is the only thing that has worked
Try it

I've been thinking about trying facials. My friend is becoming a spa person thingy and she recommends them highly. She says all those products you get at drug stores are crap and can actually cause break outs. If you're going to buy products, get them somewhere a little bit more high scale like at a counter at a department store or a beauty salon. Afterall, you pay for what you get.

Oh ya...also you could try soaking a face cloth with extremely hot water and just holding it about an inch or so away from your face for 10 to 20 seconds to steam it and open your pores. Make sure not to touch the skin or get too close or your can scald it. You can then massage it with a cloth to remove some of the dirt and oil, or use a good cleanser, and finish by putting cool water on your face to close the pores. Hope that helps.

most of the products actually dry your skin to much.. which in turn makes it produce more.. and more.. then you use more products to dry it.. and then the skin produces more...
the skin basically gets confussed...it thinks it's dry and needs to protect itself.. so yes many of those store bought products are very counter productive..

the things i found that have worked the best.. and yet very simple..
MILD SOAP..nothing that dries it out to much..
try neutrogena poor minimizing cleanser.. it works pretty good..
instead of washing repeated times and drying the skin too much.(this is one thing the doc was diffinetly right about) when skin gets oily blot it... doesn't matter what you use, could be a napkin, paper towel etc... blot though do not rub.. instead of apply more powder (ladies) or scrubbing with a drying soap (men)..
try to use as minimal amout of make up as possible ... and keep hair away from laying on face.. hair oil will only add to the facial oil..
