Clean Receptors ??

...is it completely true that your receptors will "clean-up" if you allow them as long a break as you were "on" for?...is there evidence to prove this and do they completely clean out?...also say someone cycled on and off for over a year and a half and never took more than 4-6 weeks off in between, than decided to take off for 10-12 weeks, would his receptors be alright so to speak?(would they be more "receptive")...i know this all depends on the individual, and everyone would vary, but i just want a general opinion...

i guess the norm would b to take however long u r on...is how long u r off....but i am sure that someone like decadent would know the real medical reasoning behind it and give a better answer...i am only tryin 2 get my post count up by posting pointless information<---- if that is what u want 2 call it. :)

lol

...thats cool...i know the ole time on/time off thing, but was curious to see if a certain amount of time was necessary to get them to where they once were or even close...meaning, is 12 weeks or so the "magic number", i dont know because not many people say they were on for 20 plus weeks and than off for 20 plus, but you do hear on for 10-12, off for 10-12...

I posted a study awhile back that measured AR # and the interesting thing is the number of AR's actually increases as you stay on. Long term cyclers had higher AR#'s than short cyclers did.
I know that goes against what most people commonly believe.

I think the amount of time off you optimally need is more a factor of HPTA recovery than a function of your AR's. If you oversuppress your natural hormones there is no way your body will be able to maintain any of your AAS induced gains when you come off. Your mass will become steroid dependent if you kill off your nuts and can't produce adequate amounts of your own test.

If I run across some of those studies I'll repost them for you sully.

I just took 10wks off, first time in a year without bridgeing or anything. I just feel clean. Second day on D-bol and 1 shot of sust and I can actually feel the d-bol just waiting to cut lose.

DecaDent explained the time on=time off idea perfectly. We want to restore our HPTA (aka HPGA) to precycle levels. The only way to do this is to allow the complex negative feedback mechanisms time to restore endocrinous homeostasis.

About the receptor issue, I personally believe people mistakenly equate AR counts to receptor up- & down-regulation. It is true that the number of androgen receptors increases under the influence of exogenous androgens. Yet, over time, there will be a general receptor down-regulation because the body is trying to maintain some degree of homeostasis during a period of supraphysiological levels of circulating androgens.

The principle of receptor up- & down-regulation is a medical fact that can be found in any decent anatomy & physiology textbook. Clearly, there is some mechanism at work that either prevents the binding of androgens to the AR or prevents the delivery of an androgen to the target cell after it has bound to the correct receptor. I'm not fully convinced that receptor "saturation" is the only explanation. If this were not true, there would be a perfectly correlating relationship between androgen dosage and LBM gains (i.e., increasing your dosage would yield increased results). Further, users would not experience diminshing returns over time regardless of the cycle length.

Any experienced user can attest that neither condition applies to androgen usage. Consequently, no one can build a "Mr. O" body in just a few years, regardless of the type or amount of androgens used. It takes years and years (more like a decade or so) of consistent training and androgen usage (and awesome genetics) to reach that level.

hey goldenear.............

...i appreciate the help, but i dont have my dictionary and med books nearby, lol,...i kinda got the point tho, i think...

i believe that it will usually take up to eight weeks for the sites to clear. i ve read about individuals in controlled experiments who were on up to 18months and then their bodies reached normal functioning/homeostasis in eight to ten weeks.
