I've had some kind of nagging shoulder injury for a few months now. I went and had x-rays and an MRI and the doc told me had severe tendonitis in the shoulder, two delt tears, an impingement (bone formation issue) and a bicep tear! I have to take 3 weeks totally off, take anti-inflamatories and be re-assessed as to which surgery or surgeries will be needed. If all goes well, they will just do arthroscopic (sp?) surgery to remove the impingement and I'll be back to hitting it full speed in about 6 weeks.

Considering you'll need surgery,6 weeks is a very short time to take off. What about the muscle tears? Is there pain? How fast will they heal.It seams like AS would speed the heal process.

Hey cat,I've always had problems with rotators until I started doing exercises to strengthen them. Now I always do them b4 chest workouts and stretch the pecs exclusively. It has made a world of difference for me,but I still have to be carefull on incline press.

Sorry to hear that extent of the damage BSBW. I had a similar report minus the bicep tear awhile back and took 4 weeks off and gave up barbells entirely in my chest routine. Switched to dumbells exclusively and haven't had a problem since,100% back to normal. Hope you get just as lucky bro.

Yeah, I've switched to dumbells too...not really sure why they hurt less. I guess you can alter the plane enough to not fire the parts that hurt. Anyway, the arthroscopic surgery is considered very minor and non-intrusive. They go in through a small hole with a tube and do everything using microscopes. I figure my legs will get HUGE during this time. I'm still on bulking cycle--- large doses of AAS anf FOOD, lol.
