Help! I'm 8 weeks out and during the last week I've noticed that I'm losing strength in many of my lifts. This contest dieting and cardio is so hard mentally. Not sticking to it, but losing size. I'm afraid I'm going to come in small. I like seeing the definition coming in, but I'm worried that I'll look small once it's all said and done. I know this is simply a natural part of what I'm doing, but I just needed to tell someone how I'm feeling.

Yup, that's normal if you're really pushing it. It WILL get even worse. It will push you further and harder than you can even imagine!

Keep your MIND FOCUSED! You've come this far! You CANNOT GIVE IN TO THE WEAKNESSES THAT THE MIND WILL LET YOU THINK THAT YOU HAVE--and that your body is telling you that you have right now. THOSE WEAKNESSES DON'T REALLY EXIST...YOU HAVE JUST BEEN TRAINED ALL YOUR LIFE LIKE MOST OF US THAT THEY EXIST.

Stay strong...keep training as hard and heavy as you can, even when you despise the thought of going into the f-ing gym! You WILL think and feel like that REALLY soon---and it WILL SUCK!

Get rid of the fat---get shredded. Eat lots of protein and train heavy to minimze the muscle loss, but your mission right now is to get rid of the fat that covers your muscles.

Rely on the days just before the show to carb-up and that's when you'll see those muscle bellies swell back into what you are used to seeing and feeling! THEN...AND ONLY THEN...WILL YOU REALLY KNOW WHAT YOUR PHYSIQUE CAN BE TRAINED TO LOOK LIKE AT IT'S BEST.

You'll be lean from the dieting, then the carb-up will swell those muther-fucking muscles into competition-winning condition! You WILL do just fine---if you keep your mind focused and force your body to go along!

KEEP US POSTED BRO! We're with you all the way. Oh, and we expect you kick-ass and place high!

Thanks for the words of encouragement BSB. I'm definitely going to stick with it and do the very best I can. To make sure I don't chicken out at the last minute I've told everyone I know about this contest and invited everyone to come watch me. I take great pride in following through in what I say I'm going to do. There's no way I'll be shamed by backing out after telling my family, friends and co-workers about it.

That's great. I'm planning on doing the same thing. I've already started telling people that I'll be competing in august!

Relax, bro! You have lots of time (eight weeks). Ditto what BSBWell said, plus try to gauge your progress day by day, as well as week-to-week. You don't want to peak out way too soon! I am currently 10 weeks out from my show, and had to carb up more this weekend because I was beginning to lose too fast! I started some slow dieting just before Xmas. Again, relax - be proud of the hard work you are putting in! Don't sluff off, but be confident that you are right on time! Good luck!

small syndrom

this is the demon you fight with! problem lies one in the mind and two slightly in diet!. I would thro in a high carb day. rember to adjust your carbs to loose but you still need the cals so your fats and protien may need a bump up
