question about first injection

the stack is test(QV)/eq(TT). Eq was drawn first, with little problems. test went on top but with lots of problems. when drawing the test, an incredible amount of air bubbles got into the chamber. i expected some air bubbles, but this was ridiculous. eventually they all went to the top and were able to be pushed out.

is it normal to have that many bubbles? is it safe to inject now that all the bubbles are gone?

yes you can inject, make sure you aspirate though so you know you are not in a vein...as for the bubbles they are only a problem if you fail to get them out before you inject

yup, tap the pin get the air bubbles to the top and push out, then you're ready to go bro....but like blm said, make sure to aspirate!

Put the barrel of the pin in some warm water under faucet stream and all of the bubbles will move to 1 area. Give it a few taps and push them out.

If you don't have the pin securely tightened onto the syringe the hub will leak in air as you pull back from the vial, tighten the pin next time before you draw and I bet you won't have a problem.

Also if you are drawing up the solution with a small guage pin, it can cause air bubbles. Try drawing up your solution with a 18 or 20g pin, then switch to a smaller one to inject.

flick it with your finger, you may even want to flip it over end a couple of times to get the bubbles to coalesce. then push them out. safe to shoot

Harvey, I had an extra 18g needle left over from my busted fina kit and so I decided to draw from my vial with it as my 25 gaugers were taking tooooo damn long. Now, I just bought a box of 22g 1" needles to draw from my vials and either one of 3 things happens - (1) everything goes fine (2) I lose the seal around the needle and air bubbles start rolling into the vial or (3) I don't lose the seal, but a drop or so of my gear leaks out while I'm drawing from the vial. IMO, those other pin sizes are just too big unless you are going to use that same size every time.....BTW, is there any way "bad air" going into my vial could effect the integrity of my enth?? It's a 50ml bottle, so it's gonna last like 13 weeks or so
