Well ill take u back first. Aug of this year, i crack my L5 vetbra for the 2nd time. I go through rehab, and wear the brace to heal the broken bone. Well after im done with my 10 weeks, i get new xrays, one side didnt heal.

So today i go to a new doc, to have him look at it. This doc was 100x better then my old one, was telling me stuff i didnt know about my injury. Well we start talking about what i can and cant do. I have no pain, shit i just pulled over 500 on dead lift. I feel great no pain.

So he checks out my back, and my legs, I have a chance of nerve damage in a leg. i also might need surgury. Get some stuff fused back there. So all and all im trying to keep my head up. But it just seems to get worse and worse. First i lose my abilty to play college football, now i might lose the ability to compete in my first powerlifting meet. I might not be able to go heavy again.

Just seems my shitty luck gets worse, i mean lifting has been my life for 4 years now. And it might all be lost. I guess i just got to keep my head up and keep pressing on, hoping for the best, as it gets worse and worse.

keep your head up, doc's aren't always right, and are usually very conservative on what you will not be able to do.

that sucks, man - on kinda the same note though, I was able to deadlift 500lbs for the first time in weeks after screwing up my lower back. Keep your chin up, you'll beat this shit for certain

Don't give up, the human body is amazing. I had a tumor removed from my lung when I was 10, was cut from backbone to center rib cage. Had my ribs split, lost mobility and strength in my right arm. My Dad forced my to go to the gym around 13 years of age. I'd put my back and arm strength against anyone now. Sure I have a hell of a scar, I don't even notice it now. Just don't give up or put limitations on yourself. You will eventually overcome.

what Harvey said...docs arent always right....if you are doing 500lbs on dedlift and have no pain...i see nothing wrong....if you feel fine...no sense in gettin cut yet...i mean...who is to say that your back or whatever didnt look like that B4 the injury and it was never Xrayed and all was fine but now that there was an injury and it has been Xrayed they think everything is messed up...our bodies are not perfect and we have many flaws...but our bodies are also resiliant and can overcome these things...know what i mean?
