My show was last Saturday. I ended up missing the lightweights by 1.5 pounds, that was kind of a bummer. I still ended up taking 5th as a middle, but could've been first or second in the light weight class. Middle weight was the toughest class at the show and the winner of our class ended up taking the overall. Still, for a first show it was kick ass, and I was happy just to be able to perform at the night show. I had a great cheering section and the feeling I got during my routine was something I'll never forget. I'm planning to do the same show again next year, hopefully 20 pounds heavier. Thanks for all the advice and assistance especially dpsquat and bstrongbwell.

Congrats on 5th. Sucks about such a small amount of weight putting you up a class. Good luck next go around. Now you have some experiance.

good job

the middles is a class that alot fall in too! making top 5 with the overoall coming from you class means alot!.. i would like too know if you took some of my advice and how you applied it!

I totally followed your recommendations on sodium depleting, carb depleting, water consumption, diuretic use and depletion workouts. I went a little more conservative than what you suggested for carbing up, and now that I've been eating since the show I wish I'd have carbed up more. I was much bigger and fuller after the show. Next time I'll know better. Drinking 3 gallons Monday was hard to do, but drinking only a half on Friday and nothing but sips on Friday night and Saturday was driving me crazy. I've never been so thirsty.

Thanks WeirdAl. I thought I felt some positive energy flowing to me from somewhere. :) Good luck in your own preparations. How's it going so far?

Glad to hear it! My prep is going ok - I started cutting last week, was kinda panicked on how close I was getting to the show. Started around 222 lbs, and was down to 220 by last weekend. Still had my "free day" on sunday, and bumped back up a bit, but then had the flu or something this week and dropped down to 217. I'm being a little more aggressive on top of it, although I probably don't need to yet - have 17 weeks at this point. I need to get on the ball and ask for some help from dpsquat on my prep. I have 2 shots of deca left, ~4 of cyp, so will be doing my post cycle therapy in 4 weeks. Need to plan out all my supps and cutting cycle still.

Honestly, I don't know. At this point, and unless I just think I look phenomonal, I'll be doing the novice division, which only has 2 classes, with 178.5 being the cutoff. I think I'd probably be better off as a heavy, but I don't know if I can carry that weight at that low of a bf%. I also need to get my bf% accurately tested here asap.

congrats

kudos to you bro! You looked good in those pics! its nice having GOOD pics when your in shape for that SHORT period!lol.. anyway Are you planing on any more contest?!!

You ended up bone-ripped, man! Pretty awesome! Side chest and ab/leg shots look the best. Back looks good, too, just need a little more width & thickness. Is your diet posted elsewhere here? What exactly did you eat the day before and the day of the show?
