I'm working on building an office building right now. This morning, I was connecting on the level above the third floor. The crane had a beam in place ready to be bolted to a column. I went to the end of the beam to line up the bolt holes and secure it to the column. The other end was just sitting on a plate on the top of a masonry wall, not secured. ( I'm such a dumb-ass). LOL. Antway, my weight unbalanced the beam and it tipped like a teeter-totter, and spilled my ass onto the decking of the floor below me. just got some bruises (so what else is new). I'm just glad we had already decked the floor below or I might not be posting anymore.
Then 30 minutes later, I was setting bar-joists and welding them to a beam. I put the stinger down to land another joist and it made contact with the beam I was sitting on and heated up and started to melt the rod. My foreman yelled "hey, your foot is on fire!". Sure enough, my boot was starting to smoke.
Maybe I should get a job at McDonalds or something. :D

i think it probably was time to leave when the first accident happened....obviously your mind was not in it today...and when that happens...especially in your line of work....could mean death...glad to hear that you are alright tho!

Glad your Ok bro, I would hate to do what you do for a living.

well, thankfully you didn't get hurt. I worked for a roofing company a couple summers ago, and I have to admit, construction is pretty dangerous if you're not paying attention. I naver was:p

You should have fall protection in a construction environment if you are higher than 6' in the air i.e. safety harness and tie off

We're (ironworkers ) not required to have fall protection unless we are more than 30" from the ground, or a decked floor. Connecting anyway. Those harnesses are very uncomfortable. I know, no excuse, but they really suck.
The morning started out really well. My g/f called before I left for work to tell me she started her period. She was a few days late and was worried about it. Now that would be scary!

Wow, Badger! You need to be careful! Lot's of close calls, lately, it seems! Glad you're ok!

Dayum kid, you have one of those jobs that it only takes 1 mistake. Be safe bro
