If you're wanting to modify the car, go with a 5.0 motor. The modular 4.6s are good motors but the aftermarket sucks. If you like the newer body style, go with the 94-95 5 liters, if you like the older body style, like me, go with the 89-93 body styles. The 87-89 (same look as the 89-93) are speed density, unless it was made in Cali. and you have to change it to mass air eventually. Plus the pre 90s had the ugly ass steering wheel.
On the other hand, if you purchase a 98-02 F-body, they do have the highly potential LS1 motor that can be made into an 11-second car without taking the heads and intake off, but the same goes for the DOHC Cobra.
