Hi All,

I just joined up, see General Conversation thread for my intro.

I figured I'd get this out of the way my 1st day, and post some pics I made after being out of shape for several years. I did BFL for 12 weeks. Lost 9.5 lbs of fat, and gained 10.6 lbs of muscle at a weight of 132 lbs before and 133 lbs after. Body Fat went from 13.8 to 6.5%. That was 2 years ago. I took 2 years off, and did BFL again, then did some BodyRx but injured my groin. Took a few months off, lost the muscle, and started back again about 2 months ago. Now doing a combination of BFL and BodyRx with good results so far.

For you newbies not sure where to start, or what to believe, BFL is a good starting place, easy to follow, and very effective.

Now you guys see what I mean about my inspiration. He told me when he started Body For Life... and kept me updated with his pictures. By the time he got to 8 weeks or so, I started myself. :D

your Pic's look great! Obviously a lot of hard work went into that transformation, keep it up!

great job ! WeirdAl has told me all about you ! you have done one hell of a change !

hope to meet you soon !

Dude..I have been wanting to buy this book since it came out years ago. How do I get this book, or is there a way I can follow this type of diet with out the book...I hate to read! I have a short attention span...

The book is available at just about any bookstore, and your local public library probably has several copies, too. We also just started a new forum dedicated to natural transformations, with an emphasis on the Body for Life program - look for it to really take off!

But the book is fairly short, very inspirational, and provides a lot of great info. Give it a read!

Gemini,

I HATE to read, i really do. I actually enjoyed reading this book, and its just what I needed too. I spent less time in the gym each day than I used to (when I went), ate all the time, and looked better in 12 weeks, at the age of 30, than I ever had before. The book is less then $20, well worth it .

I stopped commenting on men's physiques in these body building forums because there's just so many guys posting & I was afraid to hurt feelings if I didn't comment on every thread.
However, there are exceptions to every rule & I hafta say...
..you have a body like Dar! {Daniel Goddard}
*fans my face*

CyberStefke has the same solid, strong, proportioned look as you..

Thanks Sachet, *blush* it always means more coming from the ladies, doesn't it? :) Thanks everyone else too. There are lots of great people, and bodies here. I really need bigger legs badly. To all the lurkers out there, dont think it takes a miracle to have a better body. Like pumpseeker said, consistency! Eat well, and just keep working out! You can do it too.

BFL.

Geez...133lbs...I would have never guessed it. Looks like a solid 170, 180. What a difference low bf% will do. This is the look I have always strived for, but could never get past the last plateau. The best I looked was at 165lbs, with 8% bf. Now I remain at 175lbs, with at least 15% bf. I think I will get this book and start doing some reading. Sick of the muscle magazines with all the recycled articles. Thanks..I think I might have just crossed the bridge to get back into training with full dedication and consistency. I would love to drop bodyfat without a lick of cardio. Ya see the laziness in that statement. I know that statement will open the flood gate to all kinds of posts as to half a$$ing my workouts, and probably rightfully so, but I really have gotten sick of cadio.

Hi Again Gemini,

If you really hate Cardio, you might also want to take a look at the BodyRx book. The author is against cardio :). Right now, I am doing part BFL, and part BodyRx, with no cardio, and still getting ripped. Eating only the right foods, and often, really makes a difference. I am basically eating the BFL way, but my workouts are 4 day splits, no cardio. BodyRx has 4 cycles, each with its own exercise method, and eating schedule. I made up my own workouts which are not exactly like either program, but close. Anyway, there is some room for customizing BFL. The cardio is only 20 minutes, 3 times a week, not too bad, and its all you have to do that day. I might start running uphill just to get my legs in shape! Good luck, and keep us posted.
