All mods read plz....!!

I've noticed in the past week that the traffic here has basically DIED... and I have a few suggestions as to why that is the case.. because I personally no longer have the urge to post here or come here for that matter... and this is due to the fact that the mods are getting a little "anal" as far as anything is concerned... they are closing threads left and right... even deleting threads without warning...

For instance, the "LA roll call" thread that was started by MadChem.... this thread was deleted on the terms of flaming in the thread... I've read the thread and noticed there was NO FLAMING involved... flaming consists of personal attacks on other members NOT conflicting opinions... if one would reread that thread, he/she would notice that all the so called "flames" where followed with a JK... so in turn the thread was closed for no reason whatsoever...

That pisses me off, it's like getting fired for something u didn't do...

I was going to respond in that thread to Jay about the warriors for I am a warriors fan as wel... but the thread was closed...made me hesitant to write anything for that matter... MChem coulda been cooler but he was simply joking around... JK was at the end of his post... I had no problem with moving it, it belonged in General... but closing it wasn't right...

that in conjunction with my other thread... one on post whoring... makes me not want to post at all!! Think about it, I understand we want to keep the board clean and stuff, but u have to understand that with a huge member's list, there's ALWAYS going to post whoring... why go out of the way to close a thread because it was full of post whores? Is 1 extra thread bothering the mods that much?

I know what you guys are thinking, "but UCD your thread is still there..." chances are you're referring to the "UCD who is whoring" or something like that thread... I'm referring to the thread I started called "The biggest post whore thread of all time" which got closed... without warning...

I'm simply saying that the mods are getting a little out of hand that's all... that's probably why people are hesitant to post... I myself have lost the urge to post here...

It's no fun posting when we have to worrry about what we post... U guys, the mods, promote getting new people here... and get angry when personalities clash? different opinions clash? when people wanna whore??

u gotta understand that it comes with the territory... and if I have to worry about what I'm posting I can simply go to another board... where there is no worries as to what I'm posting...

We have to clean up some posts, and come on, you have to look at it that a thread "The biggest post whore thread of all time" is a little much, it serves absolutely no purpose.

There's not much to worry about posting we just clean up what we are told to, just nothing too off color, advertising, or 1 letter replies.

i have been here for a long time.
and everyone here knows me i think its just bullshit that my thread is closed down for nothing. it was not flaming it was having fun. this is a place where majority of us hang out almost at work or at skool. so i think this matter should really be looked over one more time.

If I start a 999 bottles of beer on the wall thread, and just post the same thing over and over and over, I don't think anyone gets anything out of that but me - I get a post count boost, which doesn't mean a whole lot anyway. The same goes for the 1 character posts, like a single '.', that was going on in the post whore thread that got deleted. Sure, we could have left it, or whatever, but it truly served no purpose.

And the LA thread was posted in the anabolic forum. The mods of that forum decided that this forum was a more appropriate place... But by that time, no one was really answering and saying they were from cali, there was just a lot of flaming going on ("j/k"'s not withstanding). That's marginal, but worse is what it tells any of our new members. And note that I locked that thread, I didn't delete it.

Anyway, I have no problem with post whoring... but threads that ONLY consist of single letter responses, over and over and over, are pointless.

And this shouldn't really affect your posting. If the mods see a thread out of control, or things that are against the rules, they (we) will certainly deal with it. I don't really understand how it's a hit to anyone's ego to have a post of their's deleted, or a thread that seems out of control locked. Usually it's not about one thread in particular, or one post in particular (unless that one is against the rules), it's that we don't like the precedent that is being set, so we want to nip things in the bud. And you guys should be getting pm's when your post or thread is deleted - if not, that's our (the mod's) fault. That is one thing I will apologize for.

Anyway, this board, and especially this forum, is for the members. The members are what makes the board tick, what makes the board fun, what makes the board home for so many of us! But we want it to be fun for everyone, which is why we have rules.

I haven't personally locked or deleted any threads, but I only get to view the board from midnight thru 8am most days, so I tend to miss the high traffic times

That said, I trust the judgement of all of the mods here. No one's on a power trip, and no one's being overly "anal" about how the board's run. But why shouldn't we be? I've been here for a while, and I consider this to be the best board on the net BECAUSE we don't have a shitload of pointless threads that serve little more than to boost post counts. Who gives a shit people? Does it REALLY matter who has more posts than the next guy?? I don't think so......sure we kid about who has more posts, but in all honesty none of us cares as long as we're doing our duties as a moderator to help keep the board free of random garbage which some members may find useless or offensive. Now, with that said, please DON'T take that to mean that I think your threads are useless.............it's just the threads with the one letter responses or the members who go into low traffic areas and post numbers just to boost their count

I implore those of you who read this to rethink leaving the board. Having a moderator lock or delete a thread is not a personal attack on you or your beliefs, it's just one of us trying to run the board the way we think others would like to see it run. Do we make mistakes? Surely. (well, I don't...lol) But in the end, I consider all of the other moderators and members of this board friends in this tightly knit community.......c'mon people, don't let a bruised ego stop you from contributing

u guys have got to be fucking kidding me, traffic has not died due to a couple closed threads, and to be honest i get more complaints from members about how they have to sift through shit threads to find the good ones, i think this board is run well.

Also we have just dumped a sizable amount of money into this board and guess what traffic has increased 10 times what it was, wich is great on the other hand I pay for server space and bandwith and all that nice stuff, so with the increase in traffic and posts comes an increase in my monthly bill to keep this place going so a decision had to be made wich is this:

A) try to keep the nonesense posts down so we can continue to grow as a community of quality threads with out to much of an influx in monthly bills due to sever space and overage

or

B) not grow as a community by way of a higher volume of members and use up the space we have for sensless posts

Now i do not know the exact incident you guys are talking about therefore cant agree or disagree with anyone, but to come on here and basicaly say our traffic has is dieing because of our sensorship is just plain wrong, were talking about a couple isolated incidents. UCDFuBoO i value your opinion bro and i apologize if you have been wronged in any way but its not like alot of other boards where its run like a natzi war camp. We are very laid back.

And madchemist I truly can appreciate your enthusiasm for the board and the sport of bodybuilding alltogether from reading your posts, but you of all people should not be bitching bro, you make new threads every day when they are sometime the same topic, and we have never ever tryed stopping you or asked you to relax, like for example you are going to compete thread, i remember that week you must have made 13 different thread titles and all could have been kept in one thread but I just figured you were pumped up and wanted to make sure you made a new thread so you would be sure to get replies, i can respect that bro, but time change and yes we rather qaulity then quantity any day , we can do without your " How do i not have a boner onstage when competing" thread. I mean yes the board has grown tremendously in the past month or so... but this immediate past week/ week and half it has been dead... there is no doubt about it... people are simply not comming here... Therefore I made a suggestion...

Ok, I deleted a couple posts, and unlocked it (mostly so I could rate it a 1, lol).

UCDFuBoO it comes down to that we want to make this the best, most informative, flame free board out there. Myself and all the other mods attempt to keep the board as clean as possible. In no way should this stop you from posting, it is not the intent of any mod here. I've been a member and visited many boards. We strive to keep or community tight, that said if a mod locks a forum, simply pm a mod and perhaps it could be straightened out. Content may have to be edited, however we want to keep the board friendly to all members.

The one thing I want to say is that MC is the best board around and I want it to stay that way. I think the Mods are doing the best they can. I'm still mad that someone deleted one of Nicole's newd pics though, lol.

I will agree that the LA should have been moved, but not locked. I'm glad to see that it was opened back up.

I will still be here for the next 3.5 years....
