Do you have this book in the States? It was written in 1838 by a Belgian author called Hendrik Conscience. It's a book about a battle between the Flemmings (which I am) and the French.

I you haven't read this, and you like to read books, than this is a must read. It's a classic masterpiece.

I'm currentky reading it for the 10 th time or so.

Yes I think the french have fought almost anyone. In this book, we win. The French have made some real great victories too in there defence.

By any chance do you happen to know where I can get an English translation of Hendrik Consciences' masterpiece? I am struggling thru the Vlaams (I am an American but my father is Flemish - our roots are in W. VL.) "De rode morgenzon glom aarzelend in het oosten" I can understand but other passages are more difficult).

I'm grateful for any leads you may have.
