Help with a last few days....

Flushing water out of the skin is something I am trying to do for my client right now. The show is the 28th. I am trying to improve my understanding of flushing out the water from under the skin.

One question is should I have him eat certain foods that are lower in sodium? The tuna is one source I was thinking of change. I was thinking of having him eat just broiled fish and chicken. He is taking potassium. Right now he is just taking one 99mg pill per day. What are your guys ideas on sodium and foods?

I was planning on having him drink water (lots of it) up until Thursday night. Then on Friday having him just sip water. What do you think about that? Ok?

Any tips would be great. He is looking hard but I want to maxmize the results.

Bro, you better not be getting paid from this 'client' of yours.... cuz I'm not. lol

Here are some pointers that can help YOU set up his last few days of prep:

*sodium until wednesday
*No sodium Thursday and Friday
*Put the sodium BACK IN Saturday a.m.
*Play it safe and don't 'sodium load' it is a bit complicated and can backfire easily
*Go with very low sodium foods on Thursday and Friday.
*I switch to turkey breast as it is lower in sodium than most all other protein foods
*distilled water is preferable for Thursday and Friday, also

*3 gallons of water ED starting on the Sunday before the show
*Thursday only 2 gallons
*Friday 1/3 gallon until about 2pm-5pm depending on condition and whether you are using a diuretic or not (this you will have to play with as it is very individual and based alot of condition at that point)
*If flat on Saturday morning, take in more water. If dry, tight and full, keep water limited.

If using a diuretic, let me know what you plan to use and I will gladly help you out with it. It needs to be done safely and effectively so I want to help you on this one.

REMEMBER: It is NOT that you want to focus on water RESTRICTION as much as you want to focus on water CONTROL and MANIPULATION. Very important to remember this.

I may or may not do a few of those things too. :D

In skimming over this, you don't want to drop to the low sodium foods so early. There is no reason to do this and it could potentially be detrimental in that you would be dropping sodium pretty early and this COULD allow for a kickback later in the week, making it harder to keep water off. I would run the regular sodium foods through wednesday and keep the distilled water out until Thursday. That way, the shock of dropping all sodium coming into Thursday will cause the body to drop even more water. There is no way between Thursday and the show that your buddy will have any sort of problem with water due to sodium.
Just my opinion.

Bro go with what Skip says...keep sodium foods up to wednesday...thursday and friday low sodium...dont sodium load just eat normal foods..sodium loading is a sure fire way to screw up! Drink plenty of water...distilled or reverse osmosis demineralized on thursday and friday...stop water mid friday....on sat am you can basically eat almost anything if you are tight and dry...sodium will actually help..i have eaten cold pizza even and it made me freaky vascular and full. Follow Skips plan you will be fine!
Peace,

TT,

Looks like you're on the right track. I won't confuse with any more info. except to ask:

Why deplete for 5 days?... Why not just deplete over 2-3 days w/ full body workouts and then carb-up?

Also, looks like he'll be carbing up on Thursday through the show?... Just curious.

-Randy

Really the five day thing is not set in stone. I know that he is eating low carbs now so it probally will not be hard to get the last bit out. I am not sure how long would be best or how to tell how many days is best. Any ideas? I was going to have him carb load from Thursday until Saturday morning. Any suggestions would be great. Oh, glad to have you at the board! Stay for a while.

TT

TT,

When your BF is as low as it should be for a show, the possibility of muscle loss is greater, especially when eating no carbs. I would try to deplete (and eat no carbs) in 2 or 3 days. The first day will help deplete and also increase insulin sensitivity.

I personally like t
Day 1: Have a no-carb day to deplete liver glycogen, increase insulin sensitivity
Day 2: Do a light, high vol. full body depletion workout
Day 3: Repeat Day3, carbing up after the workout.

I have also added a 4th day w/ another fullbody workout, but this was overkill for me. (It was fun, though!!! Nothing like sets of 20rep squats after no carbs for 3 days and having trained the entire body the 2 previous days in a row!!! LOL)

-Randy

I LOVE having you two around - homonunculus and praetorian. I don't have to do SHIT! LOL

You guys are on it.

how many days out from the show should you stop the training? I had planned to stop all training the last days of carb depletion. I was going to have him stop training legs and abs the last Monday before the show. Some crazy man gave me that idea (Skip, hehehe). The depletion workout were going to be high reps (20) wth short rest periods (15 secs). Well, thanks for the help! TT

Once I get pics and his placing I will post it.

TRAINING

Yep, you want to stop leg training at least 1 week out from the show...your lst workout should be an overall body workout..moderate weight..nothing too heavy...2 sets per body part 10-20 reps..and done prior to carbing up! If you are carbing up wednesday, thursday and friday...then last workout wednesday morning..then hit the carbs right after..go high carb wed, mod carb thursday, lower carb friday...keep diuretic going from previous thursday if using aldactone, or aldactazide....when u carb up make sure you drink tonnes of water as well...keep water going till friday afternoon..then cut it out..keep diuretics going straight thru to show and after..then taper
Peace,
P

I am a crazy man. hehe

I recommend stopping all training below the waist ATLEAST 1 week out. I would not have him training legs or any cardio past the saturday before the show and even earlier if possible. It is a fluid thing.
