Guys, I have been lifting and cycling for over 20 years.Much of this has been pretty haphazard stuff with little real science involved, particularly in the earlier days.A vial of this and a handful of that, eat like crazy and get bigger every year - till about 2 years ago with my 40th birthday looming large. Was up to 296lbs,6ft even and at least 20% plus bf , very strong, but I looked bad.Starved myself for 5 months and dropped to around 190lbs, looking gaunt as a long distance runner and as weak as a kitten.Have since stabalized at 210 to 220lbs with bf under 9%.

Anyway, I was so excited to stumble on this forum ...it is fantastic !So much info that I had always been looking for and never found ...although I think that it is very unlikely that I will ever compete, I feel that I have found a home with folk that think like I do.Skip's diary is incredible, so much of the homelife rings true.My wife thinks that I am a dumbass, does not notice if I am 210lbs or 260lbs, can't figure out how I will eat the same thing day after day, is concerned that I weigh every morning and evening ...like I say, I feel at home in this forum.Thank you very much.I will be back daily to monitor Skip's progress, it is a real inspiration for an old guy like me.

Welcome, bro, and glad to have you here! Be sure you check out everything (and participate, when you can)!

Learn to cut and paste

I also have learned a lot by reading on this board. My tip is to cut and paste what you read. I have several word docs with great stuff on them. Some examples are Harvey Balboner's bar recipes and drink recipes. Enjoy the reading. tentitan

Well, it is nice to hear someone is paying attention to me! lol

It is nice to have you here, bro. I encourage you to get your 2 cents in when you can.

Make yourself at home.

Inspiration for an old guy like you? LOL I have news sunshine... you're not the old guy around here. :D That would be me.

Welcome to where we call home, glad to have you around.

I just wanna chip in and second what bigbrian said about this board, and especially Skip's journals. I'm preparing for my first show next year, and I've also been helping a lot of guys at my gym with diets and contest preps lately, so it's really invaluable to find a source of information like this one to draw new ideas from.

Thanks a lot!
