i fucked up my left shoulder a while ago. it hurted a lot when ever i did chest or shoulders. so i tooke about 2 weeks off i am still off going in my third week. i need to know how fast do u guys recover from a shoulder injury i know i still havent recovered cuz i could still feel the pain. i am taking glucosamine.

please give me good advice..

I hate to say this but if it is a rotator cuff most likely only surgery will do it. Otherwise I would for the time being avoid any exercises where you open up you AC joint-so do NOT perform any flyes, incline or flat dumbell presses below shoulder level(no big streching) Also take some anti-inflamatories as glucosime will take 4-6 weeks to start working.

bro i hurt my right shoulder 2.5 yrs ago and it took 1 yr to bench again, though i decided to go with dumbells the rest of my life from then on, then last summer i popped my left shoulder going heavy on flat bench wich i said i wouldnt do again bt i wanted to see where i was at for 1 rep max and it popped, this was last summer and my left shoulder is still a mess, you have to work around it bro, alot of noncompound movements more isolation, i still was able to do some shows and won my class in all of them so it can be done, but im not able to pack on the mass i want cuase its been a year now with my left shoulder and still hurts like hell, so shoulders are a tough one but managable to train around

Yeah, my bench has been in the gutter since straining my rotator cuff. Get it checked out. Presser sound like my training partner, doesnt go about 165 on incline, since it bothers his shoulder

yeah man its a real bitch, i cant incline dumbell, or use the pec deck heavy and flat benck is pretty much out, lots of flat dumbells, and cables, sux to be me, i was hoping to hop on stage this year ripped at 240lbs last year i was 230 and well i didnt pack on the meat i wanted so far, maybe 2 lbs of muscle since last november, very displeased as i wanted everyone to see a huge difference this year on stage, hell just today i got a letter for a show in august and the guest poser is the guy who beat me for the over all last year in the new jersey and man did i want to destroy him this year, lol, and it burns me up that he is guest posing now and im ahhh.....well....just bitching about it,lol

also when i incline bench i will use the smith machine and to take the pain off my left shoulder my left sided grip has to be out wider on the bar then my right arm is, its a fucking joke, ill get it back though, and look the fuck out

a weee bit lol

i wish i could run down to the store and pic up a new rotator cuff, lmao

thnx a lot everybody for the help. presser i got a question, wut is your shoulder routine
cuz i can work everybody part someway or another but how the hell can i do shoulder presses. i can laterls but no presses.
so wut deo u do. i mma go to a doctor and get it checked out and see wuts up.

I seperated both shoulders at one time or another and have used a Smith Machine for Military Shoulder Presses since.

Definitely go to a doc. My last shoulder injury lasted for 4-5 months before it was back to normal. I injured mine doing dbell presses.

the only way i can do any shoulder presses is to do arnolds bro, spinning the weight on the way up, if i keep it one set position it hurts like hell

I was out for over a year when I had to have surgery (Rugby Injury) BigShug will tell ya, I could hardly bench 145. With a lot of determination, and working around the problem it doesn't bother me much, and my bench is OK. But having a Distal Clavical Excision costs mucho jack. So take it easy and don't rush it.
My .02

my cuff flares up mildly once in a while, and when it does, my doc prescribes arthrotec, I go light and careful for a couple of weeks, and presto, problem fixed.
also, go to a library and read a sports medicine/rehab book. there are many great cuff strenghtening exercises out there that really help. many bb'ers often work hard on the delts, while forgetting all the other small muscles in the shoulders, and presto, a problem develops.
lol, I love saying presto

yes on the rotator cuff exercises, I do them before most all of my workouts...I also do lateral raises/front raises with 5lb. plates - that's usually good for "what the fuck is HE doing" stares.......as long as I warm my shoulders up VERY well before I start my workout, I can usually make it through

Listen to Saks, guys, after his surgery he couldn't even raise his arm up on his own.......you should see him now though, he can raise BOTH arms up whenever he wants to
