Copying music cd's

Hey all,
I copied a few songs from a few cd's and they have a "tinny" treble noise, also one cd in particular copied like it has a skip in it. Does this mean they a copy protected? I used windows media player to copy onto a CD.

Make sure you do not have anything else running on your machine when you do it again.

ditto on the above....my burner f*cks up all the time if I have other stuff running, including screen savers
