With all the food that I eat, I have to cook quite a bit. I do most of the cooking at our house, while my wife does most of the baking. I've gotten to the point that I actually enjoy it! Anyone else?

What types of food do you guys like to cook?

I especially like grilling, and cooking chinese. Indian can be fun, too.

grilling, chinese, mexican. I can make pretty much anything.

I make a homemade grilled pizza that is smack your momma good. Too bad I go on a no carb diet soon.

I miss cooking somewhat. When I'm alone, it isn't near as fun or interesting to cook for just myself. My current living situation doesn't allow much other than microwave cooking for reasons I don't want to go into.
I like to bbq too. I think I cook the best chicken I've ever had and get a lot of compliments on it. "Fell on the ground chicken" I call it. One thing I found that interested me, was that while I was living in Santa Fe, I noticed a HUGE difference in how a bbq cooks due to the 7000ft. altitude. I thought it worked a lot better for me as it slows the fire down a lot, just takes a little longer to get it going. You can still get a good hot direct heat fire going if you are doing that too.

Al, do you cook Tandori (sp?) chicken? Man that is good stuff.

I cook various indian chicken dishes (chicken in various, mostly yogurt based sauces). I do them in the pressure cooker - they turn out awesome (and use goat yogurt due to family food allergies to cow's milk).

BTW, I can still make some awesome chinese dishes even when cutting, just using splenda instead of sugar, and of course, don't have it over rice! Vinegar, soy sauce, stirfried garlic and maybe onions, and splenda, with a little corn starch to thicken it, for a brown sauce! Or catsup instead of soy, and lose the garlic and onions, and more splenda for a sweet and sour sauce!

BTW, there are a ton of ingredients I can't use when cooking for my family due to various allergies and a disease that they have, so sometimes I have to get really creative!

BTW, have you guys ever read the naked chef cookbooks (or watched the show)? There are some awesome, pretty simple and cheap to cook recipes in there! I have a recipe for butternut squash that my wife absolutely loves!

The only way I've done squash was to cut an acorn squash in half and bake it in the oven with a big ole chunk of butter in the middle and baste it while it cooks. You can add some brown sugar too but I usually don't.
I sure miss simple home cooking. Meatloaf, squash, some corn and spinach with a rhubarb pie afterwards. I'm drooling like a Pavlov's dog now.

i do all the cooking. mostly wild game...tonight is smoked wild turkey...damn bird's been in the smoker for 8 hours now...

we have a rule in our house...you cook, the other cleans. i cook every day...

Good rule Bro, I feel the same way. If someone takes the time and effort to cook food for me, I feel the least I can do is clean up. If we both did the dishes together, I always insist on washing. It can be hard on the hands and women like to keep themselves nice looking. Mine are already hopeless. :D and theirs are so nice and soft. I guess I'm showing my old fashioned age, but I feel like the man should do the dirty work.

I grill all year around. I sometimes enjoy cooking on the stove, but if a grill is around, watch out. Oh and my wife DOES NOT COOK:angry:

I like cooking A LOT.....mostly country type stuff since my mom and grandma make the traditional "down home meals"........lately I haven't been trying too many new things though, gotta broaden my horizons

BTW, footballcat your new avatar kicks ASS

Saks, did you paint your truck....lol
