my wife has had an odor( in the southern region) so she went to her md-they tooh a urine test and something showed them that shes burning too much fat. she told them she takes xenidrine ed and they said that is probaly the reason--so they said stop taking the xenidrine--does this sound ok?

burning too much fat? How is it possible to burn too much fat? Supposedly when you are in ketosis, the ketones have a distinct odor... not sure if this is what you mean or not.

Ketones are released in the urine as well as in the bodies sebacous glands. So underarms and genital regions can have a funny odor since the glands are a little diffrent there. You can also have the similar odor on your breath which comes from your lungs. You will not burn more fat than your body will allow at any given time if you are in true ketosis.

I think she's ok. Her body wont let her burn "too much" fat. Obviously taking the ephedrine and doing whatever she's doing is working to help her burn fat!

Amonia

Hey tugs!

I just learned a great piece of information. The smell your wife is experiencing may be due to muscular breakdown. If she is on a low carb diet as well as Xenadrine, like others said through ketosis the the body emits certain chemicals that cause odors, but it is usually through bad breathe. If she does a lot of cardio with weight training, she may be working anaerobically and since she is already burning a lot of fat, her body may be resorting to using muscle as energy during cardio. If this is happening, you'll usually smell an odor resembling amonia. To stop or help prevent this, try HMB, I'm sure you've heard of this. IT's an amino acid and it will help maintain muscle. Also, CLA will help preserve Lean body mass. She can also just cut back on cardio if she does more than three 30 min. sessions.

Every body puts out different odors. Ketones can stink in some people. But good post
