Cardiac Capacity to develop pro-size quads

I don't know if this is the best forum for this question, but I keep wondering why cardiac capacity isn't the limiting factor in women developing huge (eg 26") quads. It seems to me the muscle mass involved relative to a typical woman's natural total body muscle mass is staggering, and the vascular network to support all that muscle must severely tax the heart's pumping ability. I know that heavy squats leave me breathless, and that this isn't unusual, so how do women do the heavy squats and leg presses etc needed to develop muscles of that size without simply running out of oxygen capacity? While training can make the cardiovascular system more efficient, it is being asked to support maybe 50lbs of muscle mass requiring huge amounts of oxygen and nutrients, it wasn't designed for.
