Anyone have surgery for this? I go in next Thursday, Dr says 4-6 weeks recovery time????? I plan to be back at the gym in 2 weeks, at least training legs and abs, hopefully I'm not being too optimistic here....maybe carry a roll of duct tape and tape my hand to the bars if I have to!! LOL

You may be back in the gym faster than that as long as you can trust yourself to stick to just a lower body workout.

What were your symptoms?

bro are you absolutely sure you have CT? i had problems about 8 months ago and they told me the same thing .first let me ask you this, are you currently on a cycle ? the reason i ask is it could be from bloat ,as that seemed to be my prob my wrists hurt like hell and both my hands were numb all of the sudden and at exactly the same time went to an ortho and he told me i needed surgery and sent me home with a script for celebrex and the braces. about 1 month of the celebrex, braces and trips to a chiropractor all is good to go.. havent heard too much good about the surgery .. i guess what im trying to tell you is maybe explore other options before surgery.. maybe a second opinion from another doc?
just my .02 bro good luck

Good advice, PO..
That's why I was wondering about his symptoms.
My next question was whether he was on a cycle..
The next if he's had back*spine problems..

Well, I am on cycle now but was not when this all started or when it was diagnosed a couple months ago. The initial Dr visit was because of numbness in just my right hand, I could not hold onto anything small for more than a minute, like I would be eating and just drop my fork. My wife finally got sick of me dropping my fork and food all over the place and said I better get checked "or else" :D
Anyway, they sent me for a 'nerve conduction' test which measures the response time between point A & point B from small electrical stimulation. Certain delays are indicitive of nerve damage, that is how they can confirm it. I am in the habit of going to the chiro every month for "preventative maintenance" alignments, been doing it for years due to the heavy lifting. So I'm sure this is carpal and does need to be repaired. If I do it now then hopefully I can be back to 100% at the gym before December, then I need to start preparing for my next show in April.
Sachet, I should be able to stick to lower body only ....for a couple weeks anyway. At least it gets me into the gym and keeps me active. Shoot, maybe I'll even start cardio again! LOL

kidrock, when i went to the chiro they told me that nerve runs all the way from your shoulder and they did a couple of exercises to see where it was pinched at and found out it was in my shoulder but still yet i think it was due mostly to bloat . i also was scheduled to have a 'nerve conduction' test but blew it off and glad that i did. see if maybe they can give you some samples of celebrex i swear by the stuff and if i remember right i think presser posted about how he liked it also.. i think. its good shit for inflamation..also what type of work do you do ?
dunno my friend its your choice , do what you will ,but like i said havent heard too much good about the surgery and the thought of not being able to go to the gym for 4-6 weeks sucks. i know it hurts like hell but just like everyone says here research, research it couldnt hurt any. again just my .02 good luck
