Why do u all eat this, it has more fat and less protein. I dont see the benafits

and more sodium

I haven't in a while. Nuts are a great source of fat and flavor. I like a couple of walnuts on a salad if I have too, and would rather eat pecans, cashews, etc. like this, prevents me from going wild with a couple of TBS of peanut butter.

I eat this kingd of stuff only once in a while, I get too carried away.

:D

Yah, and I think there is some added sugar in regular pb along with the "unnatural" fats.

msn.nutrition has an articlee from 10/09/03 stating that there is no nutritional, taste etc advantage Natty over commercial..I am trying to locate it now and will post.\

I like them both....

the difference between natural peanut butter vs the regular peanut butter is hydrogenated oils. A hydrogenated oil is an oil that has been gelled through an unnatural process. This is why there is no oil later on the regular peanut butter, because the oil is hydrogenated. The natural peanut butter contains no hydrogenated oils therefore being all natural. Hydrogenated oils are much more difficult to digest depending on each person's digestive system. You might not be able to fully digest the Omega fats that are present in the peanut butter. Also, through the hydrogenation process, preservatives are added to keep the oil from going bad. Now you may say that you don't see any preservatives on some labels. The reason being is that per the FDA, if preservatives are added via a process and not the final product, the preservatives do not have to be outlined in the ingredient listing.

Really? That would be interesting because I much prefer the taste of commercial over natural. But I dont know, just makes common sense that "natural" pb with no added sugars and hydrogenated fats would be better for you.......JMO

I agree-That's why I thought that the nutritional analysis was interesting...

There you go. Plus the occasional natty pb sand keeps me from going off the deep end. I had this debate about 20 min. ago with my old man.The key is moderation.

its not woth it for me, i go through 5 lbs of peanut butter in 2 months. thats only like 6 dollars for a 5 lb tub, but natty is like 3 bux for 12oz

I think we all get too caught up in micronutrients & ingredients too much. Unless your getting ready for a contest, it don't matter too much.

hmmmm... interesting......I like the taste of both no biggie to me .... the natty is to sweet at times..... but it goes great in protein shakes for that sweet flavor!

glad someone else agrees

i was at another board the other day, and all these people were talking about all they eat is chicken breast & tuna. I asked and not one of them competes, what's the point then?

Exactly...I mean there is nothing wrong with someone having a clean diet, but I can't eat clean all the time...shit, I have a hard enough time eating clean some of the time. lmao!

To each their own I guess...

i just try to stay away from junk food, candy sugar. I just eat alot of heathy food, it seems like i eat the same thing all the time

Same here I dont compete so I dont eat like it. I still enjoy pizza, ice cream, and other junk every now and then. I just try to do a little more cardio. During the week my diet is stellar but I cheat on the weekends. Plus I drink beer and wiskey like it is the old west. That is my biggest prob. but Im am satisfied wher I am at which is a long way from where I was 5 years ago.
