Oh yeah! I bought 300# of olympic weights last night at sports authority, I needed more badly, pretty good deal they threw in an olympic bar in the set too for $89.

yes sir i do, easier that way, and i have pretty nice equipment now, want to add a few more things next year.

i pretty much only used free weights at the gym, so i just bought my own, and said good bye to the $45 a month gym membership, already paid for all my stuff

nice to no longer have a crappy standard bar, with olympic plates loosely on it, the sum bitch was bending when i had it loaded.

Going to the gym is what keeps me working out. I wouldnt workout if I was at home. I would procrastinate. I look at it like a compitition.I tyr to make better gains than anyone there.

I have added equipment every year and now have a great gym here at home. Every holiday my family gives me work out stuff.
Most of it I made - I weld for a hobby

Smith Mach.
Hack Squat
Lat pull
Hyper-extension.
Olympic Bench
2 flat benches
Assorted Pull-up/dips and Peck deck
D-bell (hex) 5 to 70s
1500 lbs of plates

If I had to leave the house to work out I would blow if off - to hard with life and kids - etc.

my next purchase is a set of db's but i keep adding stuff, i'm going to have to get a bigger house.

i'm thinking to save a little on them i will start at 25's since i don't use any thing less than that on anything, and go up to 100 to start, then get the big boys.

I have a nice setup at this place I used to live. I'm pretty sure it's all there too. Hopefully I will get to move it all out and store it. LOL

I am pretty much the same. I dont like to work out at home. I have tried it before and did not lik it. The gym I go to is pretty small and there are only power lifters and BBers and like 20 girls who take it pretty serious. I dont use the campus gym becuase there are to many (I wanna be a body builder buy dont want to put in the time or effort so I will just walk around with my chest stuck out and my arms hanging like I have lats..lol..)

harvey tell me what do u do for spots when u are at home i mean i wouln't like to atmpt a 250Lbs ench press or a 500Lbs squat without a HUGE spotter ,also when u work out and iám sure occsaoinlly u dump heavey stuff on the floor does it harm your floor? do u have rubber coating ?do u know how much it would cost?
iám voin out of my place pretty soon to a bigger place where i have the basemnet for myself and was thinking of setting up a basic gym there can u tell me how much it would cost on average ?

What motovation do you need. You should have it all inside of you. I go to the gym to make my self better. Thats like a football player saying the coach didnt motovate him right.

YOU SHOULDNT NEED MOTOVATION, YOU SHOULD WANT TO DO IT

just my 2cents

well choose your bench very carefully, don't cut corners here!

mine also doubles as a squat rack, the neat thing about it is it has these big safety pins that go in so if you can't make the rep the saftey rack catches it. so i don't need a spotter for squats. it almost works like a power cage, which could also solve the spotter problem. on bench i would dump the weight if need be.

the bench was a couple of hundred bucks, but I got a steal of a deal at Sports Authority I came in several times and they were out of it, and never did get it back in everytime they were supposed to get more, so the manager knew I was wanting it, so she sold me the floor model for $79 because she couldn't find the price for it, I saw the same bench at Oshmans for close to $400.

it is in a room that is carpeted, so i haven't noticed any floor damage.

I probably have less than $600 in all my stuff, I got a ton of weight, power tower (chin up, pull ups, dips, etc.) bike, lat tower & bench. want to add a leg press or leg sled next year.

watch the sales at sports authority, plates and db's are way cheaper there than they are at the used sporting goods stores here.

also at home you choose the music you want to listen to and how loud, it helps keep your intensity up

Hack Squat

How hard was it to make that hack squat machine? My dad can weild about anything, he made a bunch of trailers for 4 wheelers last year to sell.

I'd love to see a pic.

I need a gym-Seeing other peolpe lift heavy/hard makes me maybe push that extra 1% I otherwise might not

I dont agree with this. I feel that it comes from inside, and after that its how hard your partner pushs you. Everyone is different, so what works for you might not work for me

But i feel that keeping my log, i can see what i want, i increase my weight, my partner helps me when i start missing. I dont know if i have the best partner in the world, i make all the work outs and stuff, but it helps having someone there to push you i feel

Personally i would love to wrok out at home i just about might the gym is a distracting place especailly if u seem to know what you'r doing then people strom you with questions and all u wanna do is work out and leave ,girls are distracting too and sharing machines harms my intesity ,my gym has no tv so cardio is boring there too
i might just buy a bike and a symth machine and maybe a preacher curl and some weights ,and an easy bar and then just wrok my way up for there i'am sure builidng the perfect gym in my house is going to take a couple fo years and i'll probably sorta rotate between home and the gym at first
also the music is a great concern of mine's the stuff they play in out is is well shit (a lot of soft rock and techno )none of the good stuff (rap R&b or harcore rock )
