Shrinkage........Paintshop Pro help

I'm using JASC PaintShop Pro 7.05.

I have a friend I want to send some pictures to, they were shot with a digital Olympus D 490. Pictures are 1200 x 1600 pixels and approximately 5.4 Mb each. She is on dial up so I know it would take forever to download. I don't want to lose to much resolution in the pictures, however. These are pictures of work I've done around the house, so the detail is sort of important. If it works, I'd like to post them here as well for a bit.

Thanks,

Morgan

you have to get them down to 100k here. Why don't you burn them onto cd, and just mail them to your friend?

Don't remember if she has a CD or not (I know) I think she has an old 233 mhz Gateway or some such nonsense. I'll ask her.

Meantime, do you lose any kind of resolution at 100K? I posted a couple of pics of my bathroom a while back, they looked pretty good.

Can I resize using the pixel dimensions, or is it better to resize in percentage of original size for my friend?

she should have a cd... if you burn to cd, you won't have to resize or anything.

To resize, I'd go as a percentage.

And if you save as a jpeg, you can go down to 75% quality (it's an option with jpegs) and get a much smaller (bytes) image, without sacrificing much if any detail!

Already in jpeg format, I'll give it a shot.

Thanks Al!:D
