So as I was saying to everyone in my previous thread, there was some jackhole down in Venice Beach working out.
I will add, this man's body was nothing to shake a stick at. To give you an idea, he was about 5'11" (he just looked under 6 feet tall for some reason), perhaps about 215lbs and bf around 7-8%. These are all guesses, I just want to give you guys a visual.
He's standing in front of a massive amount of weight on the lower portion of the squat rack. It's the part that's about thigh high, I beleive it's for safety reasons. Anyway, he had a full bar with 9 - 45's on each side and a 10 on each side. Let me whip out the calculator...ah yes, 875 lbs!!!
To give more of a visual, he was on the side of the gym (the gym is like a chain link cage) facing the huge walk way that Venice beach has. So he had about 30-35 people gathered around. People of all walks of life were interested in what this man was going to do with this weight. I think someone (could have been my friend) said he was going to dead-lift this weight. I stood there in shock. I was thinking to myself, "I bet he's going to do shrugs with this." Well, I was kind of right...
The man proceeds to step up to this weight and gather his grip. He stood there for quite some time looking at the crowd that gathered before him. Mind you he was NOT wering headphones and all he had to block him from the intense pressures of the firey crowd was a pair of sunglasses.
After he stands hunched over the weight for several minutes he lifts the weight off the rack with all of his might. He takes about two to three steps bach and he gets a good locked position with his body. He then starts to attempt his "workout."
He proceeds to lift the weight with his arms about an inch or so. I actually never did see him move his shoulders up and down at all. After his second "rep" this made the weight have enough momentum to rattle up and down a few more times. I almost wanted to hop the fence and slap him. He put the weight down after 5 reps of him bouncing this weight up and down.
The funniest part about it was the crowd. He got a few gasps when he actuallygot the weight off the rack but once he was doing his "shrugs" people were speechless, and not in the good way. I remembering letting out a slight chuckle with BiggerStronger. When he was finished someone in the crowd let out one of those real slow claps in hope that it would catch on. It didn't. I was funny hearing people dissapointed as they're walking away from him.
