i'm 23 yrs old, 5'7", 165lbs... (huge i know!!)

i've been working out for a few years, but never got the diet thing down, so i never produced any real results. i'm looking to change that though.

i have a solid workout schedule, (lacks in the cardio area a bit), and i believe i know the BASICS about proper dieting to build muscle. after all that my question finally is where can i look, or what can i read so i can get some solid info on what to eat???

young grasshopper eager to learn!!!:bored:

Welcome bro and we have a ton of great info and great people here that will be more than happy to help ya

i don't want to try to pick everyone's brain about nutrition, because i really don't know to much... what i am looking for is a book or a diet that i can read or research myself to help me. then i can come pick everyone's brains about details

newbies are so dumb!!!

oh thats me!

several bros here have used body for life and have gotten great results. All depending on what your goals are bro.

i saw that was recommended to a few others, it was also used in the inspirational story in this months e-zine about the little fat geek that becomes a body builder.

i wasn't sure if that was for big fat guys or little fat guys like me. either way, i'm going to check it out.

gracias amigo!:)

Welcome

Welcome to MC gunshowtix.

It is a little time consuming, but reading up on the subject so that you can draw up a sound diet plan is the right approach.

If you let us know a little more about what aspects of dieting you want to know more about we can point you in the right direction.

There are a few basic things that are part of any good diet plan.;

- 5- 7 meals a day

- selecting the right kinds of carbs, protein and fat

- consistency

- monitoring the results and making adjustments accordingly.

I think that you will be pleasantly surprised by the progress that you will make if you stick with the new diet plan that you develop. Diet is 75% + of this game. You can train your heart out, but without the diet piece being right you will be dissapointed in your results. You are on the right track!

BTW - Most people will not start to see a noticable difference for 3 weeks or so, but then the impact of the new diet will kick in and you will see steady progress. Everyone is not the same, but this is typical for many. Good luck!
