How about an Olympia weekend report?

he promised me one on saturday in AC!
Well the weekend was great and we had a blast.
Here is a comparison of the Olympia and Arnold Classic for those who may want to go in the futer.
Best Shows: I would give this to the Arnold since they had other acts in between the rounds like strong man and circus like acts. Also the MC at the Arnold was 10x better.
Best show center: - I like the seating and size of the “O” better than the Arnold.
Best Value: This is hard since the VIP at the “O” are $600 and only like $350 at the Arnold. The “O” VIPs will get you better seats this may not be the case at the Arnold. The Rooms at the Mandalay bay are $235 a night vs about $175 at the Arnold. I think that the “O” cost us about twice what the Arnold cost us.
Best Location: Well Vegas is hard to beat for having fun.
Best extra shows – I think the other things like “meet the Olympians” and Cocktail Parties were better at the “O” than the Arnold.
Best Expo:oth are a blast but I think the one at the Arnold was more Fun – not sure why it just seemed more energized.
Best People Watching:s since its warm every had less clothes on OOOOHHH the ladies…
Best places to eat – Vegas – this is the one bad thing about the Arnold – not enough places to eat.
Best access the Pros: Vegas they are walking around everywhere. Hell we hung out with Miss Olympia ( Lenda Murray) in the lobby and chatted for a while – she’s the best!
Vegas is also warn and there is a lot you can do. It is a very Energized / Sexy town to spend a few days. We had a blast. The pool at the Man.Bay is great and a good place to poeple watch.
I met so many pros it was cool. And Most were very cool and seemed to have a brain and were good people. We had 4th row center stage for all the shows. We were in front of the judges. I sat next to Charles Glass and this was cool to hear him talking to Gunter while Gunter posed.
Shawn Ray and his girl sat next to my wife, we didn’t talk to then but it was cool. Flex was walking around and chatting with everyone – good to see him looking health but he’s only probably 190 lbs. Let me see who else did we meet – Frank Zane, Dorian, Vince Taylor, Darem Charles, Melvin Anthony, Flex – Other I will have to wait till we get the pictures back.
It was a blast – I would recommend it and plan on going again.

You could save some money if you didn't stay at the Mandalay Bay and spent some time looking for less expensive meals.

VIP tickets at $600.00 each 1200.00
Hotel 234.00 night 702.00
Airfare 300.00 each 600.00
Food 100.00 day 400.00
total 2900.00
I would recommend the VIP since you get great seats.
I will be going to the Arnold this year but will not buy the VIP there. Plus I think I will drive this time (8 hours).
We splurged since it was my wifes Birthday and a "big" one.
