My lactic acid builds up fast so i think i got maybe 24 6 yrs ago though is last i tryed this, if you drink a baking soda cocktail you can do more reps without the acid buildup burning ur muscle out, so for anyone going to college or trying out through the combines remember that,lol
 
I got 225 for 21 reps after pushing 315 for 12.......

shit, I even got 275 for 15 after a set of 10 with 315 but I'm still a pathetic, skinny, pot bellied sack of garbage!
 
I just bumped a thread that asked the same thing... I guess I got 22 or so back in january. I should try it again.
 
I do a burn out after my routine and usually get 18 to 20. Press is right about the lactic acid, it's been studied that long distance runners will do better and accumulate less lactic acid if ingesting Baking soda and water before the event.

I took an exercise physiology class in college. My professor said this worked but that there is one potential side effect. As he so eloquently put it.....explosive diarrea.

I thought about trying it before going skiing one day and decided that this potential side effect could really suck at the top of a mountain when I'm 20 minutes away from a toilet.

minor details....you could always run into the woods and take care of your business....

my buddy used to pee as he skied backwards down the mountain....I'd usually laugh so hard I'd end up wiping out
