My Life: Before and After

I am from my Mom and Dad
From honesty and respect
I am from tough love to a soft sense of giving
I am from the lonely path of being a nobody
and on the open road to being a somebody

I am from my younger brother
Who would never leave me a lone
And still never does
I am from friendly family dinners
to heated discussions

I am from long, tiring adventures to
A quiet, relaxing piece of mind
I am from long times of fun and laughter
Where the good times roll
I am from a dismal dark area where
No on has ever survived

I am from a decent chilhood until now
Where I am still learning moral values
I am from Brandy, a best friend who taught
Me that there are ways to have fun
I am from being a girl who enjoys rock
To being a true rocker

I am from day camp
A place of 11 years worthy of hatred
I am from a sleep-away camp
Which has gotten only better and better each summer I go
I am from a love of stuffed animals
To getting on the road to be a veterinarian

I am from a great family
To whom I have always been someone
I am from distrusting human beings who I have yet to
Understand why they see me as no one
I am from life, a wonderful gift
And one that can easily be taken away
I am from true compassion
Which can never be turned
