There is such a thing as consuming too much water and the result is a condition called hyponatermia, A study of 481 participants in 2002 Boston Marathon revealed that 13% were hyponatermia post-race. This trend of overhydration has caused experts to rethink the generally accepted advice that athletes should drink as much as you they tolerate. This year USA Track & Field issued new water consumption recommendations that advise runners to drink based on individuak need, and not to exceed 800mg per hour.
