The Hip Hop Routine

Latest routine I saw demonstrated in my gym earlier this week. (Really I did!)

The scene - Large younger black guy who plays college football, wearing a dark blue sweat shirt and sweat pants. Probably about 6' 300, should be about 250 - 50 extra is probably just holding water - ;)

So he's holding a carbo force in one hand and standing stationary. He starts to hop up and down on one foot, switching to the other foot and back and forth. OK, I'm thinking, some sort of warm up I guess.

Then he kicks it into high gear and starts to hop on one foot around and in between the pieces of equipment - first forward then backward. Balance was not so hot. Everyone in the weight area is watching - trying to learn this new advanced method. The end is near, however.

One shoe lace is partially untied. He catches the dangling lace with the hopping foot while trying to move backwards around a weight tree and starts to tip to the right. The crowd is hushed - the excitment great -

He grabs on to the top of the weight tree with the open hand, spins around the tree 180 degrees and comes to an abrupt stop as his carbo force goes flying across the room.

He then casually walks over, picks up his drink, wipes his brow and heads for the showers. What a work out! I was in awe.

prob. trying some agility drill that he was supposed to be doing outside, but was too lazy to go to the parking lot / track / etc. to do it right. LOL
