I have been looking into getting one and was just curious if any of you had one and what you thought of it......trying to get all the pros and cons

No but I work in the electronic industry and most of my customers sell them.

For the money I would recommend a rear-projection LCD TV the are much tinner in depth than a Tube TV and have a incredible picture.

Plasma are on the way out and are being replaced with LCD panels. LCD has a better pic. and will last much longer that a Plasma.
Unfortunately the largest LCD available to the public today is 42".

If you not in a small Condo or on a boat then you would have room for a proj. TV - in most cases. For less money you will get much better features, size and quality picture unless you drop at least 10K on a good Plasma with the bell and whistles.

Dont think I could ever buy a t.v. that cost more than my car.....when you finance the plasmas (and you will have too), it will reduce itself in value faster than you could pay if off. Just like a computer.

Plasma TV have come down big in price - $3000.00 now - You can easy spend 2500.00 on a good 36" HD tube TV.

I won't buy anything like a plasma or LCD until they have been on the market long enough for the price to come down and have a large customer base. I bougt a couple HD TVs for work when they first came out now just a few years later we can't get them repaired because they were first run products. Sony did not begin mass production of these until a year later. It would have cost more to repair that by a new one at todays prices.
