Well yesterday I had my anual pysical for work. I was real worried about them taking my BP (it's been a little high). Well they got to the point where they take my BP and the cuff was to small to fit around my arm. LOL:) I guess someone upstairs was looking out for me because they were going to find a larger cuff but after they got done poking me with needles and doing my EKG they just kind of blew off taking my BP.

Man did I luck out.:D

Don't rub it in. I could compete in the masters class next year. I have the BP of a 65yo man.:(

concerning blood preessure-
On May 14th of this year the NIH lowered the figures for normal blood pressure. It used to be that up to 140/90 was the cut off before drug therapy was to be considered. Now it is 130/80 and a new disease has been created also-prehypertension! That is people with blood pressure numbers at 120/80 and drug therapy can be considered. Drug therapy consists of using a diuretic combined with either a Beta Blocker, Calcium Channel Blocker,or an ACE inhibitor. Projected cost for a prehypertensive patient is projected at b/n $500 and $1000 annually......

No way in hell would I start meds for 120/80 -not even 140/90.--BTW I believe this just made 45 million healthy Americans sick and possible candidates for chonic medicating....Big Pharma's cash register just keeps on ringing....

I hear you there. Over medicating of America. Anything botering you take a pill. I refuse to take BP meds beacuse I'm at 130/80. When I go to the Dr. my BP usually goes up to around that 140/90 range of sometimes a little more. The Doc always want to put me on meds but I refuse. If it gets higher than that when I'm away from the doc then maybe.
