Hi I'm new here , just did my good deed of the day and voted for you ........Nice truck btw....I'm supposed to come here and introduce myself although I dont know what to say other than

I'm a mother of three grown children
I want to loose weight and get fit
I have next to no will power but am determined
I hate excersizing but like hard work to keep fit (chopping wood etc...)
I just bought:
1. Twin Labs- Ripped Fuel Extreme
2. Twin Labs-Ultimate diet fuel

The reason I bought these items is because I used a similar one 4 years ago Twin Labs- Diet Fuel, with awesome results I lost 30 lbs. but it appears they have discontinued it so I bought what I thought to be close to it.
I know I am not in the leagues of you people here but thought it best to come somewhere that people knew what they were talking about and from the posts I have read this is where I should be

My questions:

-Should I or can I use both of these products at the same time? ---Any comments on these products?
-I know I did this a little ass backwards should have come here first to get advice on what to buy but live and learn I say.....lol

A few stats to consider for advice given:

-Very determined
-female age 40
-5'8"
-170 lbs (ouch want to be way less carry most in the tummy, face and boobs....lol)
-Not much money to splash out on lots of supplements only occasionally, looks like these two products will have to do till new year
- and the clincher......need to loose as much as possible before January 10th
- Need to look hot by the summertime.....lmao
Please Help
Thanks for your time

I move your post to it's own thread. You will probably get more responces this way.

Welcome to MC...

Welcome I am sure Spanishfly will be able to help you out, she's very knowledgable w/ female fitness.

Welcome to the board! I was wondering if you could give me some info on your daily diet and what your current training sessions are like.

That would help a great deal and I will see what I can do from there! :)

Some advice I can offer is about your mentality. Remember you're not going to see results overnight. It takes time, please don't get discouraged if all you notice after a week is you being tired and sore. Results will come with hard work, I promise. Have SpanishFly give some advice on diet and excersize stuff.

You say you like hard work like chopping wood, with every stride you take think of it as another chop on the wood. The wood will all be cut when you're done with you're walk, jog, and eventually run.

Do you have anyone that can offer advice on lifts (as in weights)? If so, be patient with them, and they'll be patient with you.

More importantly than vanity, you'll feel a whole hell of a lot better, that I can promise too.

Great luck, stick on MC and read up. You'll learn a whole lot.

Hi all and thanks for the welcome.

Jaywooly: I know what you mean about the mentality, I am the type that can give up very easily and that is how I got where I am today But this time I will not fail I must succeed I have printed the pic that sexy mama has under her name and posted it on my fridge for a little inspiration not to open the damn thing.....lol

Spanishfly: *Hangs head in shame* Ok here we go ,

I thought to mention (because I saw reference to it in another posting about taking supplements) that I take, Pravastatin for High cholesterol, the hereditary type so the Dr says that can't be fixed with diet.

Have also decided to start with the ripped fuel as this one seems to have higher doses than the other.

Diet:Oh I love food.....lol. Well I have no diet that I follow beacuse I have found them all so hard to follow, so I just started eating less than before , I started at 172 I am now at 165 just by doing so (yes I was a couch potatoe) I am trying to avoid white bread and am thinking of taking potatoes out of my Diet. I have a downfall for something sweet at least once a day anything. I have been trying to stick with things like lemon juice insted of butter, broiled instead of fried etc...... the commen sence stuff cause next to no cash is available for me and special diets, with a 17, 21, and 23 year old kids in the house our buget is real tight not to mention both us adults. But so far so good but things really need to spead up

excersize... *oh the shame of it all*......Dont really, I just keep active as much as possible which has been easy so far with us moving on the 21st I am always up and down the stairs constantly , lifting and stacking boxes etc.... thus the weight loss probably. I have never really had a routine so to speak as I have always bean on the lean size without to much effort ....but alas age and immobility seemed to sneak in some pounds on me with my noticing *grin*.
I am generally a tall person with thin frame my bod looks great thin but really strange overwieght I look pregnant to be honest all goes to my tummy If I could keep the weight on my legs and ass I would cause they look great with the weight.....lmao Oh ya would like to keep the boobs too.......but we all know what happens there when we start loosing......

I know I have my work cut out for me but I will gladly take any help and critical advice I can get....cant join the gym till feb and I was pondering the idea of an excersize ball for abs what do you think?

I was going to post a "Welcome" the other day but my Supervisor kept wanting to talk to me. Damn interuptions! lol

Just wanted to say first, that not all of the women on here are bodybuilders or powerlifters. I personally just want to stay in shape. And I think that diet is a 4-letter-word. lol Though I'm thinking of dieting after the first of the year. We'll see.

First welcome to MC, you will definitely be able to get some good advice here. You made a comment about not having extra cash to eat healthier. Is that because the rest of the family won't eat healthy foods and you would have to by additional food? Healthier foods for the most part shouldn't cost you that much more. I'm not talking about any supplements, just chicken, turkey, lean beef.

Hello All hope everyones Christmas was a good one, my move is all over and I'm sure I've lost at least 3 or 4 pounds but I haven't found the scale yet... Iv'e noticed I have more energy because of all the lifting streaching and jeese I'm up and down the stairs at least 50 times a day getting a real workout for sure.

Jaywooly: actually things are goin great so far My moving has brought a great source of excersize into my life and also I do believe that I have found my inner strength again. Don't know what I was looking for in the way of advice I guess I just thought with so many people into getting fit here that someone might have some different tips for me to use in my struggle to loose weight, perhaps something different that I had not heard in the regular diet stuff Heres the last one I heard ......Eat an apple half an hour before every meal and loose weight faster than normal....lmao sounds to me that a glass of water might do the same unless it has to do with ingrediants of an apple that makes things inside digest differently? I don't know? Just a thought lookin for a quicker way out of this body I guess.....lol

Kid rock's lady: Thank you and I agree.....diet is a four letter word glad I'm not alone on that thought.

Mark Mcgwire: Ok perhaps I sent the wrong message....Hubby does all the shopping and cooking in this house he buys what is on sale most times and because there is 5 of us buying alot of fish dinners can get pricey as can lean stuff instead of regular I see the point in eating these things as healthier and I mention this but his arguement is......ok I want to eat fish 3 times a week at $7 a pop thats $21 times four for a months supply a grand total of $84 ...Yummy I love fish but He would rather spend $3 a pop on regular ground beef for a total of $36 that goes futher and lends more variety to the menu and leaves $48 to spend on other necessities in our buget ......so you see there is no arguing with the man mind you he will buy fish the odd time, and very rarely chicken breasts if on sale but when it comes to food this man tries to buy alot and spend little.......Lets just hope the fishing is better this season and I can stock the freezer a little better this comming year...lol

I noticed you mentioned your budget....have you tried throwing some egg whites into your diet?? That is definitely what I would do. They are fairly cheap and when I'm dieting hardcore, they are my number one staple for food. I would eat 6 at a serving. I would put mustard on them to give them taste.

I also see that you have a sweet tooth, some alternatives to high calorie foods could be plain rice cakes with a little bit of natural peanut butter on them, flavored rice cakes, a handleful of nuts, banana with natural peanut butter, or a low carb protein bar. The protein bar almost always takes away my sugar crave.

Definitely stay away from white bread, potatoes, pasta and the like. I would try and substitute sugar with slenda. I think if you make gradual changes to your diet you are going to see results. I don't think you have to go real strict at first b/c the diet will be too hard and you will go nuts and find yourself going back to your old eating habits. When I start dieting I do it gradually. :) I eat as clean as possible, but do consume extra carbs, but those carbs aren't from sweets like candy or ice cream. They are in the form of oats, yams, maybe a slice of wheat bread.

You should try and incorporate some sort of weight training into your schedule. Building more muscle yields more burning of fat. I recommend joining a gym. It is a great motivator. I don't believe I would stay motived by working out at home. They gym has great cardio machines and tons of other machines.

If you can't join a gym you may what to try a set of resistance bands, you can get a fairly reasonable pair for ten bucks or so. I have a pair and they are great :) You can find some example exercises on the net.

Well, I hope this helps. Forgive me, I know it has taken me some time to respond, but I haven't been online much lately. :)

Congrats on your 12lbs weight loss. That is great!!

BTW, don't forget to drink lots and lots of water!!
