My sister asked me if what her kid was eating might cause constipation....you decide for your self:

fried cheese sticks
grilled cheese sandwich
cheese ravioli
cheese sandwich
cheetos

Hmmmm, wonder why she asks

hmmmm... I'm no doctor.... but I am going to have to say far too much cheese.... LOL

And not a very good diet either.....

We had a long talk....she knew better than that shit. She lived in the same house with me growing up and dieting for my early shows..EVERYONE in my family knows better..that dont mean a damn thing though!

Yeah, but if you've ever had kids, you should know how hard it is to get them to eat anything at certain stages. Sometimes you have to give in just to get some calories in them.

Can't give in THAT much!

True, but my little one sometimes lives on peanut butter and jelly for days on end! After our mistakes with our oldest (she lived on pasta for a year, I think!), we do make sure the kids get a variety of foods, and we only buy bran cereals!

Peanut Butter & a variety of jellies? lol

I know what you mean, my oldest was (still is) so skinny that I would let him eat just about anything. But the youngest we have to monitor or he will eat the whole bag of tortia chips (sp?) with salsa!! And then have a bowl of ice cream. And then......

Sounds like my 8 year old. He's finally started to eat, and he'll eat his way through the morning if I let him. He'll start with two poptarts, move on to a bowl of cereal, then a banana, then a protein bar, ask for cookies, etc.. . .And he's skinny as a rail!

Processed and fast empty calorie foods...And we wonder why our kids and their friends are getting ADD and ADHD.
It's called lack of fricking nutrients..I see it all the time.

Heckman, what do you do that you see a connection between ADD/ADHD and poor nutrition? Just curious, since I've never thought about that connection, but it makes some sense. And my kid DOES bounce off the walls most days.

done some homework and surveys with a clinic back east for kids with ADD and ADHD. All of them were living on the same type of diets..mainly junk food and other processed stuff with empty calories. Some major changes started to take place when the kids were given actual vitamins and minerals in a whole food liquid source. The studies have been nothing short of amazing.
But most of all, just common sense stuff..
Hope this helps answer a little of your question.

Heckman, thanks! We are pretty careful about our kids diets - they're not allowed to eat a meal without a protein source, their carbs are usually complex. It's just those early morning and in-between snacks that kill us. I can see I need to be a little more vigilant about leaving the crap laying around where they can get to it!

Glad to see someone else is careful. Check this out though..Observe as you go about your day and you will see that breakfast is usually at the drive up window
(moms and dads buying breakfast for the kids because they were to lazy to get up early and fix it.) ..lunch is in the microwave(cause we are hungry now.) and dinner comes in a bucket....(also because we are to tired to fix anything nutritious.)
