Valentine's Day

Yep Valentines day is right around the corner. I usually don't have problems with gifts but this year I'm kind of confused. I know that V-day is supposed to be romantic and all but the things my wife want most right now are a new mountain bike and a new tennis racket.
For Christmas I got her a diamond necklace and wrote some nice mushy stuff in a card so don't tell me I don't know how to be romantic.
Biking and athletic stuff are things we like to do together so this would be gifts that would allow us to spend time together. In a way I find that to be very romantic.

If you were in my position would you get her the sporting equipment or go with a more traditional gift like jewelry?

Go with whatever she wants...Just because its not a feminine gift doesn't make it any less special. V-day is a day to tell someone that you love or care about them. I think that your gift does just that.

That's kind of what I have been thinking but everyone expects sappy gifts. When I mentioned to the guy at the sporting goods store that I was shopping for a valentines gift he looked at me like I was some kind of giant retard.

Ok do a combo gift, go with the bike but strap a nice sexy lacy victoria secrets thong to the handlebars!

Not to knock your idea SweatM, but how do you get freaky on a hot air balloon when the pilot is within arm's reach?

How about a hot air ballon ride with champagne.. Im I good or what?

Good idea but I'm in MN.....Feb 14th it will probably be about 1 degree outside. I don't think I want to go up in a hot air balloon for a few months.:D

I was thinking of a cabin in the woods. Maybe a sleigh ride. Hiking in the woods sounds similar to what she is looking for.

Get her the mountain bike! I got a new Cannondale racing bike for mother's day last year, and it was sooooo much better than a romantic gift. If that's what she really wants, she'll love you for it.
