You got emailed by these guys??? I just got a information packet at work on Friday about this. It is a scam, banks will never contact you to verify account info.
Had you given them you're account info, your accounts would have been cleaned out immediately.
Smart move on your part not to fall for it.

AFTER yet another attempt to decieve online banking users, the Commonwealth Bank says it is able to respond more quickly to "phishing" attempts because customers recognise the messages as scams.
Bulk emails which seek to capture online banking users' account data by urging them to log into fake websites have prolifered during the past year, with every major Australian bank being targeted several times.
The Commonwealth Bank was alerted to another scam last night, and banking industry sources told Australian IT several other major banks were also targeted in the past fortnight.
"We had people working on it immediately, to stop many of our customers losing any funds or being inconvenience," CBA spokesman Brian Fitzgerald said.
By this morning, the nefarious URL used in the deceptive emails had actually been re-routed to the CBA's real website, although Mr Fitzsgerald did not want to reveal details of how this was done, beyond saying that the Australian Federal Police were involved.
He said the CBA recently added a pop-up window alerting customers who log into its Netbank service about banking scams.
"We're fortunate that our customers, because of the attention that's been shown to these when they happen, they're becoming more aware of us and contacting us, and our own security procedures do find this sort of thing," Mr Fitzgerald said.
