I was reading MD the other day and they refered to Dan as "the late Dan Dechaine". Has the Guru passed away? If so when? I never heard or read anything about it. I always enjoyed reading his material...Didn't agree with all of it but enijoyed reading it and I had a lot of repect for the man.

WOAH..... Get a glove and get in the game...... He passed away a long time ago.

Can't remember the day or year..... maybe someone else can....

He was a genius in his time.... thats for sure!

2000 I believe is when he passed. had a genetic kidney problem if memory serves correct. Guy was way ahead of his time IMO. I thoroughly enjoyed reading his articles-especially in MM2000. He had a style of writing that was very entertaining. I will never forget the issue where he divulged how to crush finiplix into powder and mix with DMSO-a transdermal application of fina. We were the first to try it-had never heard of anyone doing this. I can not remember how long ago it was-seems like 93 or 94. The concoction worked great-but the DMSO gave you Dracula breath and the body odor was unbearable. I had already developed a disdain for David Kessler, director of the FDA at the time. Man was a communist IMO. Tried to make all supplements-even vitamin c -available by prescription only. What a phucking bastard Kessler was/is. I thought it was hysterical when Duchaine poked fun at Kessler in that same issue of MM2000. I will never forget as he summed up his new finaplix discovery-he said-Sorry Mr. Kessler, the cat is out of the bag!"
Dan had some legal troubles with gear-did a few years in the pen. He had many health problems-probably lucky to have lived as long as he did. For those that never got a chance to read his articles-man you missed a real treat. He was always working on something zany-defying science (or the law!) Funny thing is that I believe he wrote on a few occasions he had never even had a high school level biology class. Yet he self educated-I distinctly remember him writing that his favorite mag was "the Lancet"-a very well respected British Medical Journal.
RIP Dan Duchaine-a good bro.

he was just in process of selling his own incumbent line of bicycles I had a pic of him shortly before he died.

He also developed the preworkout drink Ultimate Orange if memory serves my. I still have one of his Underground Steroid Handbooks somewhere. He was even smart enough to print them on brown paper so people couldn't photocopy them. His column ASK THE GURU in MM2000 was one of my favs. In fact when they stopped running them I found MM2K to bew somewhat boring (not totally though). We need a new Guru! Anyone on the board to fill his shoes?

My favorite article by Dan was when he ragged on Chris Duffy about making Gay porn films as " Bull Durham" That took some balls to put in print in a major magazine!

I think he was also involved in developing Designer Protein also(not 100%sure). Yeah, I forgot about the Ultimate Orange. I think it was banned by the Olympics stiffs if memory serves correct.

Hey DG-how do you post a link like that so that it can be clicked on and the website comes up? My computing skills are kinda weak-help a bro out if ya can-thanks man.

I usually just click in the address bar where it lists the website address. Highlight the entire web address, then from the menu bar click "Edit", "Copy", and then "Edit", "Paste" in the post where you put your post. Hopefully that's not too confusing.
