here's the deal......

well....my husband is expecting his first grandchild, his son's girlfriend went into labour last nite, they live quite up north quite a ways, and she had to be helicoptered into the city last nite. the baby is 2 months early, but everything will be fine, 2 months isn't that early, and if needed, he/she can be in an incubator, we have one of the best medical facilities here in BC.

here's the deal......

i don't think i should go with him to see the baby. i think that this is something he should share with his ex, as it's THEIR grandchild (first grandchild) and not mine....even though he is my husband, i don't feel like it should be something i should do, i think it should be his and her experience and i should just stay away for the first couple of days....

as much as i hate the bitch (hahahahaha) i don't think it's something that should be "shared" between her and myself.....i feel im doing the right thing...what do you guys think?

I actually agree. I don't think so much because you don't belong...I mean I think you have a right to be there with him if you wanted to. I just think I would feel awkward and out off place....kinda like a third wheel. I'd use it as some "me time" and enjoy it.

she might view it as impolite that you didn't come too. i'd just do what you think is right because either way someone usually ends up pissed.

you have all the right in the world to be thier!! but i think you are doing the right thing!! and that takes a very secure person to do that!!

thanx i think im doing the right thing too, he doesn't understand, but i WOULD feel very uncomfortable there....she will be hugging him etc. i don't want to see that...she's kinda flaky

i will save my visit for another time....she's in full labour now, i guess he will be leaving soon

I think the best thing to do in a situation like that is to get your husbandss opinion. He may want you there, but what ever is goign to make the sitution better for you and him, thats what needs to be talked about.....maybe I'm talking out of my ass. Anyways good luck

the baby was born!!! a little girl named "Pheonix"

3lbs and change....born 8 weeks pre-mature. i have NEVER seen a baby that little (except for the other premmie in there that only weighed 1lb!)

she is beautiful, my husband is a very happy man

my husband's oldest son is only a few years younger than me....

I know exactly how you feel queen my womans daughter is getting married and she wants me to go but there is no way i will go there her ex will be there and i would see them walk their daughter down the isle ..I know exactly what i would do..probly after the reception.....thats why i wont go...for that matter she can stay there and live happily ever after...im happy in my own house its paid for and all MINE...no dont go queen.

I think you have to look at your relationship with your stepson and his girlfriend. If you are close then by all means go and wish them well, if your distant then stay home and send some flowers or a basket of fruit with a balloon.

You also need to talk to your husband, if he shows ANYhesitation about you going, then take that as a hint to stay home. Good Luck and I hope all works out well.
